OSM LUCE Electric Scooter 

EV Manufacturer Omega Saiki Mobility is planning to launch a new electric scooter called “LUCE” in the market. OSM already has the Mopido, an electric scooter for the cargo segment. Now the company is focusing on the consumer segment with this variant. This scooter is all set to make a debut in the market, company planning to launch this vehicle in the coming three-four months. The pricing of the scooter will be competitive and lower than what is being offered currently in the market which has these specifications. OSM also Plans to Launch India’s First Hydrogen Based Rickshaw With 400 km of Range. The company already has a wide range of vehicles in its portfolio.

“The electric vehicle is produced by a joint venture of Omega and Jae Sung Tech Co., ltd (Korean company) whose technology has been brought to India, and the whole assembling of the vehicle will take place in India.”

Specifications of Luce

OSM Luce Electric Scooter will be equipped to touch a top speed of 140 km/hr with a 100-150 km range. And the Scooter will be launched by the company in the coming 3-4 months.

Not only this but the Electric Scooter will be available in 5-6 variants that too in five to six colors. In the coming year, the vehicle will be available at 178+ dealership stores of OSM.

The company has been working on the R&D of Luce for about 6-7 years and this is a perfect portrayal of the company’s commitment towards a cleaner and greener future with maximum safety.

Design of Luce 

As mentioned during an interaction with the founder of OSM, the design inspiration behind this product is “New Energy, New India which is bold and aggressive, an inspiration for the younger generation which will be introducing world-class products for the Indian audience.”

How is OSM offering vehicles at a lower price?

After conducting an exclusive interview with the founder of OSM, Mr. Uday Narang, we can tell you that OSM is working on scalability that will reduce the prices of the vehicle substantially so that these vehicles can be equipped by people who are working as frontline workers.

Sales Data of electric two-wheeler for April 2023

In April 2023, the sales of electric two-wheelers (E2Ws) in India experienced a substantial decline, with a month-on-month drop of over 20 percent in overall registrations. According to the latest data on the VAHAN portal, the total number of registered E2Ws in April was 66,466, representing a near-23 percent decrease from the 86,151 units registered in March 2023. Ola Electric was the only manufacturer to surpass five digits in registrations, whereas most other businesses in this sector saw a significant decline in sales.

A joint venture of OSM and Jae Sung Tech Co. Ltd

OSM and Jae Sung Tech Co., Ltd a leading Korean powertrain maker had a strategic partnership to manufacture powertrains in India in January 2022. The powertrains were also showcased at the Auto Show this past year.

OSM JST JV powertrains are now ready with Ra314 and is testing on our vehicles for the past 6 months all across India in the toughest terrains of Rajasthan, Cherrapunji, and in the mountains of Leh. The Ra314 stands out with its 3s build – Silent Drive, Simple Architecture, and Superior Durability. It’s also the first 3-wheeler with IP-67 and will not miss a beat even if submerged in water for 30 minutes.

Future plans for OSM

OSM will be offering a wide variety of vehicles in all the segments of Two-wheeler, Three Wheeler & Four-Wheelers so that a mass audience can be captured.
