Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola, today confirmed via a tweet that the company’s self-driving electric scooter, Ola Solo,   is a genuine project in development. Despite initial speculation fueled by a viral video, Aggarwal clarified that the showcased technology represents actual advancements being prototyped by Ola.

“We announced Ola Solo yesterday. It went viral and many people debated whether it’s real or an April fools joke! While the video was meant to provide a laugh to people, the technology behind it is something we’ve been working on and have prototyped. It shows the kind of pioneering work our engineering teams are capable of. “

The CEO highlighted the significant investment and efforts undertaken by Ola’s engineering teams to pioneer autonomous and self-balancing technologies for two-wheelers. Aggarwal emphasized that Ola Solo serves as a preview of the future of transportation, focusing on autonomy and innovation within the realm of two-wheeled technology. The project reflects Ola’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of mobility and underscores the company’s vision for the future of urban transportation.

 Glimpse into Future Products  

Furthermore, Aggarwal stated that Ola Solo provides a glimpse into the innovative advancements that consumers can expect from Ola’s future products. With prototypes already in existence, Ola’s engineering teams continue to refine and develop autonomous and self-balancing features for upcoming two-wheeler models.
