TAFE Launches Electric Tractor at Agritechnica, and also showcases a concept hydrogen tractor 

TAFE (Tractors and Farm Equipment), a key player in the Indian tractor manufacturing and export industry, is making significant progress in alternative energy solutions. Debuting at Agritechnica 2023, the world’s largest trade fair for agriculture, TAFE showcased its commitment to innovation and sustainability by launching an electric tractor and introducing a groundbreaking hydrogen tractor.

Expanding European Footprint: 

With a strategic focus on expanding its market presence in Europe, TAFE showcased a diverse lineup at Agritechnica. The offerings included electric compact tractors, advanced utility tractors with HVAC cabins, and modular smart farming solutions.

TAFE E30 Electric Tractor

The Tafe electric tractor, boasting 20 kW of power, features a highly efficient transmission, low-noise powertrain, and a powerful electric motor with over 90% efficiency. Noteworthy for its fast-charging capability and compatibility with the European Combined Charging System – CCS2, this e-tractor finds applications beyond agriculture, appealing to municipalities, logistics, and material handling businesses.

The E30 compact tractor, boasting 27 horsepower, is geared with a lithium-ion battery and a two-speed transmission. This enables seamless speed transitions, ranging from 0 to 10 km/h or 0 to 24 km/h. Anticipated to hit the market in 2024, TAFE has yet to disclose the pricing details of the electric tractor.

The concept hydrogen-powered tractor, boasting 55 horsepower and featuring a Simpson combustion engine, showcases TAFE’s commitment to exploring alternative fuels and sustainable solutions. However, it’s important to note that the infrastructure for refueling is not currently in place, as stated by the company. This display underscores TAFE’s dedication to innovation in the realm of agricultural machinery and environmentally conscious solutions. 

Along with the electrical tractor and the concept hydrogen tractor  TAFE  also displayed the Euro Stage 5 Compliant TAFE 7515, a powerful 74 hp model with a 3-cylinder engine, designed for comfort and productivity. Boasting a 12-speed Synchromesh Mechanical Shuttle transmission, it easily adapts to various implements like seed drills, rotary tillers, and more. Additionally, the Euro 5 compliant TAFE compact tractor series was on display, including models like TAFE 6028 M (24 hp), TAFE 6028 H (24 hp), and TAFE 6020 M (18 hp). Known for their versatility and bold aesthetics, these tractors offer adjustable speeds, operational effectiveness, affordability, and low maintenance, making them an attractive choice for hobby farmers, municipalities, and various agricultural applications such as front loaders and snow plows.
