Ola S1 Air – The Ola S1 Air has a hub-mounted motor which makes it more cost-effective, unlike previous electric scooters from Ola which had mid-mounted motors. We can also see that all the specifications of the Ola S1 Air resemble the Ola S1 X+, therefore these two models appear superior among the three electric scooters.


Speaking of its hub motor, it is so powerful providing 6 kW of peak power and 2.7 kW of nominal power. The three driving modes allow you to drive at your own desired speed in different road situations. The drum brakes are installed to make this electric scooter more cost-effective. 

Ola S1 X and Ola S1 X+ – It is built on the Ola Gen 2 platform which was specially designed to reduce the cost and improve the performance. The safety of the battery was one of the major concerns in Ola electric scooters hence, they redesigned the battery and removed excess plastic and screws from it which made the battery lighter 

In the Gen 2 platform, they have made several changes in the main components of the electric scooters, such as they have removed the AC cables, heat sink from the Gen 1 motors used in Ola and redesigning the architecture, and ultimately increasing the peak power of motor as well.  

Overall speaking of their Gen 2 platform, the manufacturers have reduced the number of components to make it more cost effective and enhanced the coordination between them to improve the driving experience too.

Additionally, the Ola S1 X is the first Ola electric scooter to exclusively offer a physical key; the Ola S1 Air and Ola S1 X+ continue to offer the digital key that was offered by Ola in their earlier electric scooters.

If you decide to purchase the Ola S1 X, you will also have to make a compromise with the smart connectivity feature, thus you will be unable to link your smartphone to your electric scooter. However, the Ola S1 Air and Ola S1 X+ have this feature.


In terms of all features, specifications, and performance, the Ola S1 Air appears to be far superior to the Ola S1 X and Ola S1 X+, but it also comes at a significantly greater price. So, if you have a limited budget and want to get an electric scooter, the Ola S1 X is the best option for you. However, if you have a somewhat higher spending limit, you should get Ola S1 Air because it offers additional features for driving assistance.
