Pune-based NIKOL EV has set up a mission to install 5,000 EV charging stations in the coming 4 years to boost the adoption of electric vehicles in India.

They have vast experience in the EV Industry and are working towards developing a sustainable charging infra network for the past 2 years. They offer services like a consultancy to set up EV charging stations along with EV charger supply & installation.

In a recent interview, the company’s business head Mr. Vikas Mahajan said,

“NIKOL EV is a brand focused on providing energy-efficient solutions. Not only we are focusing on EV charging stations but in the future, we will come with more innovative products”.

Electric Vehicle Industry in India

There are more than 5 Lakhs registered Electric vehicles in India and the number is estimated to go up to 20 million. Electric Vehicle is going to be a 300 billion dollar industry in India with a CAGR of 94% by 2030.

Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi recently announced India’s pledge to achieve net-zero emission by 2070 as part of a global drive to fight climate change, by focusing more on renewable energies.

A few days ago India’s leading petroleum companies IOCL & BPCL declared their aim of setting 10,000 charging stations at their existing fuel stations in India.

Need of Charging Infra in India

Currently, India has approx 2,000 charging stations and as per research by Innovation Norway, India will require 6 Lakhs DC charging stations till 2025.

For faster adoption of electric vehicles in India, the availability of EV charging stations is going to play an important factor. NIKOL EV has installed more than 50 AC & DC chargers in metro and non-metro cities of Maharashtra.
