Ather Energy Twitted “It’s been less than a year since starting operations at our Hosur factory. But we’re commissioning a second manufacturing plant in Hosur, increasing our overall production capacity to 4,00,000 units a year.”

the company is setting up their second factory in Hosur Tamilnadu, with aims to produce 400K Ather’s electric scooter per year. To meet the growing demand for its 450X and 450 Plus electric scooters, Ather Energy has opened a second production plant in Hosur.

The business plans to produce 4,00,000 electric vehicles per year with the new EV facility, up from its present capacity of 1,20,000. Earlier this year, Ather Energy opened its first production plant in Hosur.

Ather Energy had its best-ever monthly sales month in October, with a 12-fold increase in revenue over the previous year and a revenue run rate of $100 million. Since November 2020, Ather Energy claims to have had a 20% month-over-month sales increase.

From April to October 2021, the firm had a 3X increase in walk-ins, web inquiries, and test rides, as well as a 4X increase in scooter bookings.

To address the exponential rise in demand, Ather Energy has committed to investing Rs 650 crores over the next five years to improve operational efficiency and production capacity.

Apart from electric vehicle production, the new plant will also focus on lithium-ion battery production. By March 2023, Ather Energy intends to extend its retail operations by entering new markets, with the goal of having 150 Experience Centers in 100 cities.

Tarun Mehta, Co-Founder & CEO of Ather Energy, commented on the milestone, saying that the brand’s experience centers are fast expanding, and the retail reach is expected to rise by 6 times in the next quarters.

As a result, barely ten months after launching the current plant, Ather is now at full capacity. He goes on to say that the firm is now commissioning a second factory, which will be ready in 2022, and that with this capacity growth, Ather is on track to become the country’s largest EV manufacturer by next year.
