The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has announced its Masters in Electric Vehicle Engineering program for engineering students, expected to enroll in the program from January 2022 during the third year of their BTech and dual degree programs.
The institute said that the “Master in Electric Vehicle Engineering” program will be an Interdisciplinary Dual Degree (IDDD) and will be awarded to B.Tech and Dual Degree students.
Master Programme in EV Engineering
B.Tech Engineering is expected to enroll in the program from January 2022 during its third year of B.Tech and dual degree programs. Initial admission to this program is expected to be 25-30 students.
“Students graduating from this program will have the necessary skill sets to pursue job opportunities in EV product development, including EV integration, vehicle aggregate engineering, communication and calibration, validation and validation, and product and portfolio planning. ,” said IIT Madras.
“The curriculum will be the result of approximately eight departments collaborating to incorporate the skills required from a student to engineer electric vehicles. The content presented is carefully curated to produce sufficient depth in each domain, of the vehicle Starting from the basics going to very specific EV aggregates including batteries and motors,” said Professor T Ashokan, Head, Department of Engineering Design.

Tech 3rd year engineering program.
