In a bid to secure a commanding position in the era of electrification, Mahindra is actively developing its upcoming lineup, featuring the next-gen XUV.e and BE range of electric SUVs. These innovative SUVs will be built upon the cutting-edge INGLO platform, marking a significant stride towards Mahindra’s electric vehicle (EV) aspirations. The frequent sightings of test mules, including the latest spotting of the XUV.e9 in Ladakh by automotive enthusiast Ravneesh, indicate the active development phase. The XUV.e9, expected to measure around 4,790 mm in length, exudes a robust and dynamic road presence, setting the stage for Mahindra’s foray into the electric SUV market.

The XUV.e9 stands out as the electric model of the much-anticipated Mahindra XUV700 Coupe or XUV800. Defined by its sleek and sloping roofline, this coupe SUV captivates attention with a curvy, aerodynamic profile that exudes a unique blend of confidence and sophistication, setting it apart from the conventional boxy SUV design.

The XUV.e9 is anticipated to feature a cutting-edge triple-screen setup that spans the entire width of the dashboard. This setup will incorporate the touchscreen, instrument cluster, and a dedicated screen for the front passenger, transforming the cockpit into an interconnected 3-screen layout. Mahindra aims to introduce a new steering wheel with a backlit logo for its electric SUV lineup, resembling the design seen in new-generation Tata cars. Furthermore, there are expectations of a fixed glass rooftop in upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs, enhancing the cabin with special features to optimize visual experiences under natural light. 

XUV.e9 EXPECTED PERFORMANCE

  • Drivetrain Options: Both Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configurations will be offered for the Mahindra XUV.e9.

  • Battery Capacity: Depending on the variant, the battery capacity is expected to range from 60 kWh to 80 kWh.
