Mahindra Upcoming Electric SUVs 

Mahindra Electric Automobiles Limited (MEAL), the electric subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra, unveiled more details about its Upcoming range of Electric SUVs.

Mahindra revealed more details like the launch timelines for four of it’s upcoming electric SUVs as well as their powertrain details at its ‘Futurescape’ event in Cape Town, South Africa. It also unveiled a brand new ‘infinity’ version of its logo, specific to this range of electric SUVs.

Mahindra confirmed that all the upcoming electric SUVS will be based on the INGLO platform. The specifications of the electric motors have also been revealed at the event.

The brand will launch four new electric SUVS between December 2024 and April 2026 based on the INGLO platform and architecture.

XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 

The first new electric SUV to be launched by Mahindra will be the XUV.e8 which will make its debut in December 2024.

The Mahindra XUV.e9 which will be the next in line and will be launched in April 2025. This will be a sporty version of the XUV.e8. It will likely share the same mechanics and interiors with the XUV e8 too.

Both the Mahindra XUV.e will be equipped with the motor sourced from Valeo and it can generate a peak power of 170 kW (231 hp) and a maximum torque of 380 Nm.

Born Electric BE 05 and BE 07 

The first BE model to be launched will be the BE 05, a 4.4 metre long SUV. It which will be launched in October 2025. There will also be an off roading focused derivative named the BE Rall.e.

The next model to be launched will be the Mahindra BE 07. It will be launched in April 2026. It will be a luxury 4.6 metre long SUV. It was earlier scheduled for launch in October 2026, but that has been preponed by six months to April 2026.

The Mahindra BE.05 and BE.07 electric SUVS will be equipped with front and rear-mounted motors sourced from VW (Volkswagen). The front axle-mounted motor will produce a peak power of 80 kW (109 hp) and a maximum torque of 135 Nm, while the rear axle-mounted motor will generate a peak power of 210 KW (286 hp) and a maximum torque of 535 Nm.

LFP Battery

Mahindra also revealed that the electric SUVs will be equipped with a 79 kWh LFP cell battery. These batteries would be beneficial for the use of the LFP apps currently available in the market. The battery is claimed to be equipped with fast charging and can charge from 0 to 80% in just 39 minutes.

Sounds Designed by AR Rahman  

Mahindra has also shared that the Oscar-winning Music Director, AR Rahman will be designing and developing the sounds for its upcoming range of all-electric models. They will be equipped with a Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, 3D surround sound and active noise cancellation, an array of three 12.3 inch screens that span the width of the dashboard, a heads up display showing AR visuals on the windscreen, connected car tech with onboard 5G connectivity, OTA updates and Level 2 Autonomous driving.
