Gogoro, a Taiwanese EV battery swapping company, has announced its entry into India with an EV ecosystem pilot program the company will collaborate with Zypp Electric on the pilot project, which will begin in December 2022.

Gogoro is a Taiwanese company that created a battery-swapping refueling platform for electric two-wheel scooters, mopeds, and motorcycles in urban areas. Gogoro and Zypp Electric Partnership
One of the leading providers of EV battery-swapping solutions has officially announced its presence in India. With Zypp Electric as a partner, the company will launch a B2B pilot project in India. In December 2022, the EV ecosystem pilot program will be launched. The program will concentrate on making battery swapping possible and increasing electric adoption for last-mile logistics.

The B2B project will be launched by Gogoro and Zypp alongside an entire EV ecosystem that includes Gogoro network stations, Gogoro smart batteries, and Gogoro smart scooters. According to the company, the results of this pilot project will be used to expand its operations in India.
Gogoro has performed over 350 million battery swaps globally to date, and the company believes that battery swapping could be a viable solution for the Indian automotive market to adopt electric mobility. The company operates over 11,000 battery-swapping stations in over 2,240 locations worldwide. Every day, Gogoro performs over 370,000 battery swaps.
What’s in store?
This new deal will bring a transformation in terms of cleaner cities and new transportation methods. This will also lead to an increase in FDI investment in India. However, the future is yet to decipher itself.
