The Hyundai Ioniq 5 Electric SUV was announced in December 2022 and made its debut at the Auto Expo 2023 on January 11, 2023. There is only single rear-wheel drive and a long-range variation of the electric SUV available. Hyundai has brought the manufacturing of the electric car in the country and locally building this unit to enable the automaker to charge a reasonable price for it. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is available at a starting price of Rs 44.95 lakh and is currently only offered in one long distance rear wheel drive configuration.

The battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes using the 350kW super fast charger. The smaller battery pack can be recharged in 43.5 minutes using the more typical 50 kWh charger, but it takes 56.6 minutes for the larger 72.6 kWh battery pack.
