Tata Motors recently revealed that the Tiago EV, the third model to join its lineup of electric vehicles, is set to hit the showrooms on September 28. This will be the company’s next battery-powered offering.

The brand announced that the Tiago EV will be available in the brand’s electrified lineup below the Tigor EV. It also unveiled on World EV Day in 2022 that the model is going to be the cheapest electric vehicle available for purchase in the nation when it debuts. Also, Tata Tiago EV will be the first electric hatchback model in India.

To set the Tata Tiago EV apart from its ICE-powered sibling, the exterior of the vehicle may undergo some minor additional modifications. It might get a new front grille, different color, blue accents throughout, and of course, EV badging. Its inside seating could feature other EV-specific upholstery. It is anticipated to share a powertrain and EV platform with the Tigor EV.

Tata Tiago EV: What we expect

We only envisage a few modest additions in terms of features, such as connected vehicle technology. Projector headlights, a 7-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a music system with connectivity, a push-button start-stop, and automatic air conditioning are some of the features that come standard with the Tiago.

Its battery capacity is expected to be 26 kWh, and its driving range is anticipated to reach 306 km. Its anticipated charging time at 230V is 8 hours.

The Tiago EV is anticipated to share the mechanicals and underpinnings with its electrified sedan brother “Tigor EV”. Tata Motors haven’t provided any specifications or other information on the car as of yet.
