Korean Carmaker Hyundai Motor has unveiled the first teaser image of its upcoming Inster Electric, representing the zero-emission version of the Hyundai Casper, a compact crossover based on the Hyundai i10 city hatchback. Earlier this year, the Casper was spotted undergoing winter testing in Scandinavia, hinting at potential homologation for the European market.
Distinctive Design Elements
The teaser image of Casper [Inster] Electric showcases its solid silhouette inherited from the base model but enhanced with electrified design elements, setting it apart. Notably, the front turn signal and surface-emitting DRL feature unique pixel graphics, providing cohesion with the rear tail and stop lamps.
Impressive Driving Range
Hyundai announces an impressive driving range of 315 kilometers on a single charge for the Casper [Inster] Electric, positioning it as a formidable contender in the EV market. Designed as a pioneering model in a new car class, Hyundai anticipates that the Casper Electric will play a pivotal role in popularising EVs in Korea.
Public Debut at Busan Mobility Show
Hyundai Motor Company will officially unveil the Inster Electric at the Busan Mobility Show on June 27, marking its first public appearance. Initially launching in South Korea, the e-SUV is expected to make its European debut shortly after.
Casper Indian Debut
There is no answer or any kind of speculation as to when Casper Electric will make its Indian Debut. The company is currently preparing to begin production of its first locally produced zero-emission model – the Creta EV – at the end of 2024 from its Chennai manufacturing plant. The Creta EV will be officially launched in India in January 2025.

Additionally, Hyundai Motor is also planning to unveil five new battery electric vehicles by 2030. The upcoming electric cars will cater to different segments and body styles, like the mass market as well as the mass premium market, and will include an SUV, sedan, and CUV (Compact Utility Vehicle).
