Ather Scooter Battery Life

Ather electric scooters are designed for impressive battery longevity, with claims suggesting a consistent lifespan of over 100,000 kilometers.
Initially, conservative estimates have been surpassed as real-world data demonstrates their endurance, instilling greater confidence in their battery performance.
Ather claims that its first-generation scooters, which have been on the road since 2019, still maintain an average battery health of 90 percent. This suggests that these scooters have many more years of usable battery life ahead, reinforcing their durability and reliability.

ATHER 450X Battery Replacement Cost?

Accurately determining the battery replacement cost for various Ather electric scooters can be challenging due to the variability in prices.
However, we can provide the battery replacement cost for the Ather 450X scooter.
The Ather 450X is equipped with battery packs of 3.7 kWh and 2.9 kWh capacities, both of which have an IP67 protection rating. The 3.7 kWh battery pack is made from 21700 cylindrical NMC-based Li-ion cells, each with a diameter of 21mm and a height of 70mm, totaling 168 cells in the pack.

The battery pack is manufactured in-house by Ather, and the replacement cost for the Ather 450X battery is approximately ₹60,000.

Battery Warranty on ATHER’s Electric Scooter 

All Ather scooters come with a standard warranty of 3 years or 30,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. This warranty covers all vehicle parts, excluding wear and tear items. Ather offers a specialized battery plan called Ather Battery Protect for added protection.

This comprehensive 5-year warranty plan extends the manufacturer’s battery warranty from 3 to 5 years, or 60,000 kilometers, providing complete peace of mind. Ather Battery Protect is included with the Ather 450X when you upgrade to Pro and cannot be purchased separately.

The plan guarantees that the battery will maintain at least a 70% state of health (SoH) until the end of the 5th year; otherwise, the battery will be replaced.

Ather Battery Protect covers any defects related to the battery, including issues with the cells, electrical components, electronics, or the Battery Management System (BMS). However, damages caused by customer negligence, except for deep discharge of battery cells due to prolonged idleness, are not covered.

Additionally, any modifications or alterations to the battery will void the warranty. If the scooter is sold, the Ather Battery Protect policy will transfer to the new owner, ensuring continued coverage.
