An X user has credited the radar-based safety technology of the Ultraviolette X-47 electric motorcycle with helping his son avoid a potentially serious accident after a speeding bus reportedly crashed into a Toyota Fortuner ahead of him.
In a post shared on October 1, 2026, user P.D. X (@dabir) said his son was stopped at a traffic signal behind a Fortuner when the motorcycle’s radar system issued warning signals.
According to the account, the rider responded to the alerts by moving away. Seconds later, a speeding bus reportedly rear-ended the Fortuner.
The incident has drawn attention to the safety technology offered on Ultraviolette’s X-47 , particularly its radar-based rider assistance features.
The post also attracted attention from Ultraviolette itself. The company’s official LinkedIn page reshared the rider’s account, bringing further visibility to the incident and the motorcycle’s radar-based safety technology.

How Does the Ultraviolette X-47 Radar System Work?
Ultraviolette’s UV Hypersense technology uses radar sensors to improve a rider’s awareness of surrounding traffic.
The system is designed to provide alerts for potential hazards, including vehicles approaching from behind and traffic entering the rider’s blind spots.
Its key functions include:
- Rear Collision Warning: Alerts riders when a vehicle approaches from behind and a potential collision risk is detected.
- Blind Spot Detection: Helps identify vehicles that may not be visible through conventional mirrors.
- Overtake Alerts: Provides warnings about approaching traffic during riding manoeuvres.
These features are intended to support rider awareness rather than replace conventional mirrors, road observation or safe riding practices.
Why This Incident Matters for Electric Motorcycles
Rear-end collisions remain a serious concern for two-wheeler riders, particularly at traffic signals and in congested urban conditions. Unlike car occupants, motorcycle riders have very limited physical protection during an impact.
Radar-based warning systems could provide additional reaction time by alerting riders to approaching vehicles before a collision occurs.
However, the incident remains an individual rider’s account and has not been independently verified. It does not establish the overall effectiveness of the technology or prove that the system alone prevented the accident.
Nevertheless, the story highlights how motorcycle innovation is expanding beyond battery performance, acceleration and riding range.
As electric two-wheeler manufacturers introduce more advanced safety features, technologies such as radar-based collision warnings could become an important differentiator in India’s premium electric motorcycle market.
