Top 5 Upcoming Electric Cars Under 10 Lakhs 2025-26

BYD is preparing to launch its compact electric hatchback, the BYD Seagull, in India on January 31, 2025, with an expected starting price of ₹10 lakhs.

The 5-door hatchback will feature a stylish tallboy design, sharp accents, a striking headlight cluster, and an aggressively designed bumper to enhance its sporty appeal. Additional design highlights include a roof-integrated spoiler and a rising window line, giving the car a sleek and dynamic profile.

With a battery size ranging from 30 kWh to 38 kWh, the Seagull is expected to deliver an impressive range of 355 km on a single charge, exceeding the segment average of 337.5 km.

The BYD Seagull will offer a tech-rich interior with features like a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver’s display, and wireless phone charging. These advanced technologies will cater to the needs of modern urban commuters, providing both convenience and connectivity.

Combining efficient performance, stylish design, and state-of-the-art features, the Seagull aims to be a strong competitor in the electric hatchback market. 

3] Vayve Eva

Vayve Mobility, a Pune-based startup, is gearing up to launch Eva, India’s first solar-powered electric car. The car was initially slated for a 2024 launch but faced delays due to unforeseen reasons. It is now expected to debut in 2025 with an estimated starting price of ₹7 lakhs.

Designed to address urban mobility challenges, Eva features a unique 2+1 seating configuration (two adults and one child). It comes with a 14 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 250 km on a full charge and additional solar capability, enabling up to 10-12 km daily on solar energy alone. This innovation could save users up to a third of their annual fuel costs.

The car is compact and fully automatic, powered by a 6-kW liquid-cooled electric motor with 16 HP and 40 Nm torque. Charging options include a regular 15A socket, providing a full charge in four hours, and a fast DC charger for a 45-minute recharge. Eva also features a solar roof or a panoramic sunroof option for enhanced utility and aesthetics.

Eva is aimed at urban commuters across all age groups and offers a low operating cost of about 80 paise per kilometer. Vayve Mobility has sourced most components locally, except for chips and battery cells, which are imported.

4] Maruti Suzuki eWX

Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch its highly anticipated eVX electric SUV in India. Additionally, the company is likely to introduce its most budget-friendly electric car, the eWX, shortly, further expanding its EV lineup.

Maruti Suzuki has patented the design of the eWX for the Indian market, signaling progress in its development.

Reports suggest the company has already begun internal R&D, with real-world testing expected to commence later this year.

The eWX is anticipated to launch between 2025 and 2026, with a starting price of approximately ₹8.00 lakh.

The eWX was first introduced as a concept at the Tokyo Motor Show 2023. Measuring just 3.4 meters in length, it features a compact, boxy tallboy design reminiscent of the Wagon R, though it is even smaller than the S-Presso.

The patented design includes body cladding, fully covered wheel caps, and a curved windshield extending beyond the A-pillars, but lacks headlamps and B-pillars, indicating its concept status.

Specifications for the eWX remain undisclosed, but it is expected to feature a single-motor setup with a claimed range of 230 km, offering a practical solution for urban commuters in India.
