Ola as part of its continuous engineering and design improvement process has upgraded the S1 Pro to enhance its durability and strength even more. It made some changes in its already existing S1 Pro and added a retro touch to its minimalist design, accessories as well as introduced different components. S1 Pro Gen2 also received significant updates compared to its previous model with an improved battery pack, platform and some other new changes.
When it comes to pricing, the Ola S1 Pro Gen2 is available at a starting price of Rs 1,47,499. It is priced slightly higher than the Gen 1 which is available at Rs 1,39,999.
The Ola S1 Pro Gen2 is based on a new tweaked platform that is lighter and stronger which helps it to have a flat footboard. In comparison, the S1 Pro Gen 1 had a hump in the middle due to it’s curved design front footboard. This resulted in reduction of the boot space by 2 litres.
The S1 Pro Gen2 also gets traditional telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks compared to the Gen 1, which had a unconventional single sided front fork and a monoshock.
Additionally, the S1 Pro Gen2 has new taillamps, a new tubular rear grab handle and a new rear swingarm that replaces the old single-sided unit.
The Ola S1 Pro Gen 1 had a powerful 8.5 kW motor and was equipped with a 4 kW battery pack. In comparison, the Ola S1 Pro Gen2 has a much more powerful 11 kW electric motor. The battery size remains the same. However, has improved efficiency and weight.
The Ola S1 Pro Gen2 has a claimed range of 195 kms per single charge. It can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.6 seconds and has a top speed of 120 km per hour.
In comparison, the Ola S1 Pro Gen 1 had a range of 170 kms per single charge. It could accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.9 seconds and had a top speed of 116 km per hour.
However, the time for recharging the Ola S1 Pro Gen2 battery remains the same as earlier. It still takes 6.5 hours to charge from 0 to 100 percent.
The S1 Pro Gen2 is 2 mm longer than the Gen 1 at 1,861 mm, the width is 137 mm wider at 850 mm and the height has gone up from 1,1169 mm to 1,288 mm. The seat height has increased by 5 mm to 805 mm whereas the ground clearance has decreased by 5 mm to 160 mm.

But for an average consumer who is looking for affordability over improved specifications, they should consider buying the Ola S1 Pro Gen 1.
Ola is trying to allocate more resources to make sure that the Ola S1 Pro lineup keeps receiving regular software updates. Electric vehicles are not just mechanical automobile products. They have an added layer of software that requires their own maintenance and quality checks from time to time.
