Ola, one of the biggest players in the two-wheeler segment in the electric vehicle market in India, has introduced a number of new models with numerous enhancements and modifications.

One of the reasons these new electric scooters from Ola became so well-known in the industry was that some of them were constructed on the Ola Gen 2 platform. While the features and specifications of the other few new Ola models also underwent updates and adjustments.

Three of the new electric scooters that Ola has produced are the Ola S1 Air, Ola S1 X, and Ola S1 Pro Gen.2. These three models include various improvements and modifications over the previous Ola Electric scooter models.

The updated body design and frame improvements include a good, broad footboard, a revised back grill that is stronger than the previous version’s single, thick grill, as well as new mono-shock rear and twin telescopic front suspensions.

The Ola S1 Pro Gen.2 electric scooter has a highly luxurious feel thanks to the paint job and color scheme, and the front-mounted digital screen with a number of high-tech functions also increases consumer appeal.

The Ola S1 Air also features a two-tone color scheme on its body, with the black color functioning as a contrast in the lower half of the electric scooter. The footboard of the electric scooter gives capacity for additional luggage, and the riding position is comfortable.

In addition, due to consumer complaints about prior Ola electric scooters, the telescopic forks have been modified in the Ola S1 Air as well, and they provide a wonderful and softer ride on bumpy roads.

Ola S1 X

In addition to having streamlined body designs like the other two electric scooters, Ola S1 X also features a not-too-hefty appearance and a comfortable seat height.

The Ola S1 X’s front LED lighting is small but really effective, and it enhances the electric scooter’s svelte aesthetic. The Ola S1 X also features a segmented display on the front that measures 3.5 inches in size.

In comparison to previous models, the Ola S1 X’s new and improved Frame greatly decreased weight while reworking the rear structure for even better robustness.

Last but not least, Ola S1 Air, Ola S1 X, and Ola S1 Pro Gen.2 include a 34-liter boot to fit extra luggage for short or long rides, as well as a very durable, newly constructed rear handle.

Ola S1 Air

In contrast to other Ola electric scooters, which have mid-mounted motors, the Ola S1 Air features a hub-mounted motor, which increases its cost-effectiveness.

Speaking of its hub motor, it is extremely powerful, producing a maximum of 6 kW and a minimum of 2.7 kW. With the three available driving modes, you may choose your preferred pace for various road conditions. This electric scooter has drum brakes since they are more economical.

Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 and Ola S1 X

Both the Ola S1 X and Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 are built on the Ola Gen 2 platform, which was created primarily to reduce costs and boost performance. The safety of the battery was one of the main problems with Ola’s electric scooters; as a result, the battery was redesigned and made lighter by removing superfluous plastic and screws.

Thanks to modifications made by Ola, the main components of the electric scooters have undergone a number of changes in the Gen 2 platform, including the removal of the AC wires, redesigning the architecture, and increasing the peak motor power.

Overall, the manufacturers have reduced the number of components to make their Gen 2 platform more cost-effective while improving the coordination between the platform’s components to improve the driving experience.

As opposed to the other two electric scooters, the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 offers a third drive mode called Hyper. The ability to drive in a variety of conditions at their preferred speed is made possible by several drive modes.

There are various similarities and differences among the features of the Ola S1 Air, Ola S1 X, and Ola S1 Pro Gen 2. A few of them are highlighted in the following table.

  • The scooter can keep a predetermined steady speed without using the accelerator thanks to the Cruise Control This function lessens driver fatigue when traveling a long distance.
  • Using maps and GPS technology, Navigation allows you to travel to remote areas.
  • You may regularly upgrade the operating system that runs on the dash of the electric scooter with the help of OTA updates.
  • The use of proactive, data-driven maintenance approaches known as “Predictive Maintenance” is designed to evaluate the status of equipment and identify when repairs should be made.

Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 has practically all of the features that the manufacturers have made available, however, Ola S1 X and Ola S1 Air do not have all of the functions that Ola offers. The cost of the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 also increased as a result of this.

The Ola S1 X model’s major shortcoming is that it is merely a basic electric scooter without any extra high-tech features that are available in contemporary electric scooters, but this also makes it one of the most affordable electric scooters on the market.

The Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 is the most advanced electric scooter when compared to the Ola S1 Air and Ola S1 X, however, it most certainly does not fall into the category of inexpensive electric scooters.

Therefore, if you have an ample budget for it and don’t want to compromise on anything when buying an electric scooter, you should choose the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2.
