JBM Auto Leads Electric Bus Market with 33% Share in September 2026

JBM Auto has continued to lead India’s electric bus market, registering the highest number of electric buses in September 2026.

According to data from the Vahan portal, JBM Auto registered 274 electric buses in September, giving the company a 33% share of the market during the month.

The company has also maintained its strong performance in the first half of FY2026-27. Between April and September 2026, JBM Auto registered 892 electric buses, accounting for around 24% of India’s electric bus market. During the same six-month period, a total of 3,771 electric buses were registered across the country.

JBM Auto had also recorded the highest number of electric bus registrations in India during FY2026. The company said its continued performance reflects the growing demand for its electric bus solutions, along with its manufacturing and execution capabilities.

Speaking about the company’s performance, Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of JBM Auto, said the company’s leadership reflects the scale and strength of the electric mobility ecosystem it has built over the years.

He added that JBM’s electric buses are designed around innovation, efficiency, safety and passenger comfort, while the company is also working towards its Net Zero 2040 commitment and cleaner public transportation.

JBM Auto operates an integrated electric bus manufacturing facility in the NCR region, which the company describes as the largest dedicated facility of its kind outside China. The facility has an annual manufacturing capacity of 20,000 buses and includes design, engineering, testing, validation and manufacturing operations.

So far, JBM’s electric buses have covered more than 450 million e-kilometres and carried over 2 billion passengers. The company estimates that its electric buses have helped avoid more than 1 billion kilograms of CO2 emissions.

With the continued growth of electric public transport in India, JBM Auto’s latest registration numbers highlight its strong presence in the country’s expanding electric bus market.
