Following on from the list of electric cars under 10 lakhs that are manufactured in India, here is a list of Four more Upcoming Electric cars under 10 lakhs in India That Aren’t Made in India. 

The list includes the Renault Kwid EV, Kia Soul EV, Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV, Ora R1 Electric Car, and Haima Bird EV1.

Renault K-ZE

Now, lets have a look at some of the expected specifications of Renault KWID EV

Renault is putting in a lot of effort to bring the all-electric Kwid EV to India. The car is currently on the market in China, and the Indian version will most likely have the same specifications. The Renault K-ZE  in India is expected to have a 26kWh battery pack powering a near-45hp electric engine. The battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in less than one hour through a 30 kW DC fast charger. The EV’s electric motor produces 44 horsepower and 125 Nm of peak torque.

 The ground clearance is expected to be changed in the India version. A higher ride height reduces the risk of damage to the car’s battery pack, which is located in the trunk. The K-ZE  EV will have a similar appearance and functionality to the normal petrol-powered Kwid.

The Renault K-ZE EV is likely to have a range of more than 225 kilometers, and Renault may release a version with a slightly larger battery that offers a longer range, depending on demand. Renault Kwid EV to be launched next year. Confirm pricing of the car is not known but it is expected to be under 10 lakh rupees. According to some reports, Renault plans to introduce atleast two electric vehicles including KWID EV in the next 3 to 4 years.

Kia Soul EV

Kia Soul EV looks quite sleek, modern and compact crossover SUV. It has a unique exterior and interior design with  sharp details and technical lightning elements. It has a boxy shape, tall roofline, angled headlights, and is available in lot of colours. In the electric vehicle (EV), the front grille is substituted with a solid panel. This change not only provides the car with a more streamlined appearance but also decreases air resistance, thereby enhancing its aerodynamic efficiency to address the challenges posed by its square shape.

Here are some of the expected specifications of Kia Soul EV: 

The powertrain of the new Kia Soul EV is the most important takeaway. The car’s performance has significantly improved, with power and torque output increased to 204PS/400Nm from 110PS/285Nm.

It replaces the existing 30 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery with a 64 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery, resulting in a claimed travel range of 280 kilometers. The Soul EV has a choice of two battery options. The bigger and more practical 64.8kWh battery offers an official range figure of 280 miles and a 201hp motor, while the 39.2kWh has an official 171-mile figure and gets a less powerful 134hp motor.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV

Maruti SUZUKI WAGONR EV was shwcased at an event in 2018. The model showcased at the event has design cues that are shared with standard WagonR sold in the Japanese domestic market, which has been on sale since January 2017. The WagonR EV gets split headlamps and, despite being an EV, it also features a huge two-part grille. The front bumper also gets a huge grille section.

The interior of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV has been spotted for the first time in its production-spec form. The dash arrangement is similar to that of the Wagon R, however, the speedometer is from the Ritz. Climate control, LED front and backlighting, and alloy wheels are also included.

The Wagon R EV’s specifications are yet to be released, but we estimate it to have a range of around 200 kilometers on a single charge.

The Wagon R EV is expected to cost around Rs 10 lakh from Maruti Suzuki (ex-showroom). It will be able to compete with the Mahindra eKUV100. The Wagon R EV is expected to arrive by January 2025.

In 2019 Great wall launched its new ORA brand which stands for Open Reliable and Alternative.  The R1 is a four-door compact hatchback built to be a mass-market commuter EV. it was launched in China at the Beijing auto show at first glance. Its exterior design seems to be heavily influenced by the Honda and small EV however the ORA R1 is built to be affordable in some ways it is top on nano of the EV revolution which makes it an attractive vehicle in developing countries like India. It is said that Ora R1 is by far  World’s Cheapest Electric Car.

Great Wall Motors unveiled the R1 at the 2020 Auto Expo.

Battery and Range: The standard model has a 28.5kWh battery pack, while the long-range model has a 33kWh battery pack with a stated range of over 300km. The electric motor produces 48 horsepower and 125 Nm of torque. this will cheapest electric car under 10 lakhs which will offer 300km of range. 

The Ora R1 has a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with linked car technologies, a tire pressure monitoring system, reverse parking sensors, and a camera, among other amenities. Front and side airbags, ESP, traction control, hill climb control, adaptive braking system, and an electronic parking brake are among the safety features offered by Great Wall Motors.

Haima Bird EV1

Haima-Bird’s first offering in the Indian EV space marries cutting-edge technology with cost-effectiveness. Haima Automobile, one of the leading automakers in China, announced its foray into the Indian market by showcasing its next-generation family electric car – Bird Electric EV1. This hatchback will be available in the range of Rs. 10 lakh on Indian roads. The electric car sleek and modern design. It has a streamlined and aerodynamic shape, with sharp lines and curves that give it a futuristic look. The front of the car features a bold grille with sleek LED headlights. 

Haima Bird EV1 Price in India

The EV1’s electric motor produces 40 PS and 105Nm (with the bigger battery pack). 20.5kWh and 28.5kWh battery packs are available. The former claims a range of 200 kilometers, while the latter claims a range of 300 kilometers.

The vehicle’s features are yet to be announced, however, Haima claims it will come with dual front airbags. It also features a large touchscreen in the center.  It also has a variant called as Haima Bird STD variant.  This EV will compete with the Mahindra e-KUV100 once it is released.
