The best Made In India Electric Cars list under 10 lakhs includes Tata Tigor EV, Mahindra eKUV100, and Tata Altroz EV.

Tata Tigor EV

The battery capacity of the Tata Tigor EV is 21.5 kWh. It has a top speed of 80 kilometers per hour and a range of 200 kilometers. It costs around 10-12 lakh INR and can charge up to 80% in 1.5 hours with rapid charging.

Some of the car’s key features are power steering, power windows in the front, anti-lock brakes, air conditioning, driver and passenger airbags, automatic climate control, and alloy wheels. It comes in three different versions: XT PLUS, XM PLUS, and XE PLUS. It has a 5-seater interior and a 255-liter boot space.

Mahindra eKUV100

A 15.9kWh battery pack and a 54.4PS, 120Nm electric motor is included in the eKUV100 commercial. It has a range of 147 kilometers and can be fully charged in 55 minutes with help of a fast charger. On a normal charger, a full charge takes roughly six hours. It will go on sale in late 2021, with a price tag of Rs. 8-10 lakhs.

Location tracking, driver pattern monitoring, cabin pre-cooling, remote diagnostics, and other features are included in the Mahindra eKUV100.

Tata Altroz EV

The Tata Altroz EV is expected to cost between 11 and 13 lakhs, so if you want to spend a little more, the Tata Altroz EV could be a nice option

After Nexon EV and TIGOR EV, TATA has unveiled the new TATA Altroz Electric vehicle. This model will have a hatchback style and will have essentially the same powertrain as the Nexon EV. A 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery will also be included, with a range of 250 to 300 kilometers. It takes an hour to charge from zero to eighty percent with DC fast charging. Around the end of 2021, the Tata Altoroz EV will be released.

Upcoming Electric Cars Under 10 Lakhs in India

The list includes Renault Kwid EV, Kia Soul EV, Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV, Ora R1 Electric Car, and Haima Bird EV1.

Renault K-ZE

Renault is putting in a lot of effort to bring the all-electric Kwid EV to India. The car is currently on the market in China, and the Indian version will most likely have the same specifications. The Renault K-ZE  in India is expected to have a 26kWh battery pack powering a near-45hp electric engine.

 The ground clearance is expected to be changed in the India version. A higher ride height reduces the risk of damage to the car’s battery pack, which is located in the trunk. The K-ZE  EV will have a similar appearance and functionality to the normal petrol-powered Kwid.

The Renault K-ZE EV is likely to have a range of more than 200 kilometers, and Renault may release a version with a slightly larger battery that offers a longer range, depending on demand.

Kia Soul EV

The powertrain of the new Kia Soul EV is the most important takeaway. The car’s performance has been significantly improved, with power and torque output increased to 204PS/400Nm from 110PS/285Nm previously.

It replaces the existing 30 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery with a 64 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery, resulting in a claimed travel range of 450 kilometers.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV

The interior of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV has been spotted for the first time in its production-spec form. The dash arrangement is similar to that of the Wagon R, however, the speedometer is from the Ritz. Climate control, LED front and backlighting, and alloy wheels are also included.

The Wagon R EV’s specifications are yet to be released, but we estimate it to have a range of around 200 kilometers on a single charge.

The Wagon R EV is expected to cost around Rs 10 lakh from Maruti Suzuki (ex-showroom). It will be able to compete with the Mahindra eKUV100.

The R1 was unveiled by Great Wall Motors at the 2020 Auto Expo.

Battery and Range: The standard model has a 28.5kWh battery pack, while the long-range model has a 33kWh battery pack with a stated range of over 300km. The electric motor produces 48 horsepower and 125 Nm of torque. this will cheapest electric cars under 10 lakhs which will offer 300km of range. 

The Ora R1 has a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with linked car technologies, a tire pressure monitoring system, reverse parking sensors, and a camera, among other amenities. Front and side airbags, ESP, traction control, hill climb control, adaptive braking system, an electronic parking brake are among the safety features offered by Great Wall Motors.

Haima Bird EV1

Haima-Bird’s first offering in the Indian EV space marries cutting-edge technology with cost-effectiveness.

Haima Automobile, one of the leading automakers in China, announced its foray into the Indian market by showcasing its next-generation family electric car – Bird Electric EV1. This hatchback will be available in the range of Rs. 10 lakh on Indian roads.

The EV1’s electric motor produces 40 PS and 105Nm (with the bigger battery pack). 20.5kWh and 28.5kWh battery packs are available. The former claims a range of 200 kilometers, while the latter claims a range of 300 kilometers.

The vehicle’s features are yet to be announced, however, Haima claims it will come with dual front airbags. It also features a large touchscreen in the center. This EV will compete with the Mahindra e-KUV100 once it is released.
