Ola S1 Gen 3
Ola recently revealed that it will be launching its new electric scooter S1 Gen 3 based on the new platform in January 2025. Originally, it was anticipated to hit the roads by March 2025. However, it seems Ola has fast-tracked the process and postponed its plans to January 2025.
Ola Electric confirmed the news that they will start delivering the Ola S1 Gen 3 scooters ahead of schedule in its recent quarterly report.
S1 Gen 3 Design
The Ola S1 Gen 3 electric scooter is designed to be futuristic, offering more power, range, performance, and efficiency compared to existing models. It gets a new and advanced platform that comprises of 3 major components- the battery pack, the motor, and the integrated control modules.
The Ola S1 Gen 3 electric scooter will have an integrated motor, battery, and electronics in a single box. That box would then be integrated with the scooter’s chassis.
An aluminum frame will also be built around the battery which will make it a stressed member.

Suzuki Burgman Electric
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to enter the Indian electric two-wheeler market with an all-electric version of its existing ICE scooter. Suzuki’s Electric Burgman is going to be the brand’s first EV to debut in the Indian market.
It will debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January and is expected to finally launch in March 2025.
Suzuki is likely to start the production of their first electric scooter by the end of 2024 and launch it in the coming months.
The brand showcased the Burgman scooter with a swappable battery pack last year. However, it will now be equipped with a fixed battery pack, contrary to the previously stated swappable battery pack option.
Electric Burgman Design
The Suzuki Burgman Electric looks quite identical to the Suzuki Burgman Street. Everything from the front apron to the rear tail section has been retained. It gets a similar telescopic fork, a disc brake, and a 12-inch alloy wheel up front.
However, the rear will have a twin shock absorber setup. The rear wheel is also smaller, with a drum brake and CBS.

Vinfast Klara S Electric
Vietnamese EV Manufacturer VinFast Auto, best known for its premium electric cars since its inception in 2017, has made significant progress in expanding its presence in the country.
Beyond its presence in electric cars, the brand also offers a range of electric scooters in its home market, which includes the Electric Klara S, for which the company has also registered a design patent in India this year.
The design patenting of the Klara S is an indication that the company would soon be entering the Indian electric two-wheeler market.
The company had earlier inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government, swiftly followed by a groundbreaking ceremony, marking the commencement of construction of an electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.
This would enable the company to produce the electric scooter locally, cutting costs as well as matching the competition as a result in terms of pricing.

Liger Mobility, a Mumbai-based electric mobility company, introduced its first self-balancing electric scooter, the Liger X at an Auto Expo last year. This electric scooter is also expected to launch in 2025.
