Mumbai-based EV startup, Vayve Mobility, India’s first solar electric car company, is all set to showcase its much-awaited vehicle “EVA”, the country’s cheapest solar-powered electric car, at the India Mobility Global Expo 2025.
The Bharat Mobility Global Expo is scheduled from January 17 to January 22, 2025, in New Delhi.
The solar-powered car was earlier unveiled and showcased at the Auto Expo 2023, where it attracted a lot of attention. The upgraded model will be displayed next year, highlighting its improved sustainability and upgraded practicality as essential features, created especially for urban commuting.
The Vayve Mobility claims that the Eva can offer a driving range of up to 250 kms on a single charge and an additional solar-powered range of up to 3,000 km annually.
Additionally, the solar panels are placed on the roof of the electric car for sustainability and added convenience. This helps Eva become much more compatible with its super-fast charging tech, all thanks to its high-voltage powertrain technology.
As established earlier, its high-voltage powertrain supports rapid charging and can add 50 kms to its range in just 5 minutes of charging.
The Vayve EVA would be able to accelerate from 0 to 40 km per hour in just five seconds and would get a top claimed speed of 70 km per hour.
The cost efficiency of the Vayve EVA is a notable aspect, standing out from the rest of the competition with an operational cost of just 0.5 paise per kilometer. It addresses financial concerns for urban mobility users and makes the vehicle so much more cost-effective than several electric vehicles on sale.
It only costs 0.5 per km compared to 5 per km spent usually by a petrol owner, which is significantly less than the 5 rupees per kilometer average.
“Eva meets the needs of evolving modern consumers. With the inclusion of solar power and smart connectivity, Eva provides a futuristic yet accessible solution for urban mobility, making it an ideal second car for families,” stated Vayve Mobility. It also highlighted that Eva would be ideal for someone who has an average daily commute of less than 35 kms and does not have a co-passenger often.
The Vayve Eva is integrated with advanced technology for a seamless user experience. It also comes equipped with modern features that are essential for better connectivity and convenience nowadays.
It will be equipped with smart connectivity features, seamless smartphone integration, vehicle diagnostics, remote monitoring access, and over-the-air (OTA) updates for enhanced functionality.
Nilesh Bajaj, cofounder and CEO of Vayve Mobility, spoke about the new vehicle, “Eva is not just a car; it’s a new category of urban vehicles designed for the modern family. It blends sustainability with innovation, offering a futuristic yet accessible commuting solution.”
He also added, “Eva is a revolutionary city car that blends sustainability with practicality. We’ve refined its features based on feedback from Auto Expo 2023 to better meet the needs of urban consumers.”
highlighting their focus on integrating solar power into electric mobility for advanced as well as redefined commuting.
The Eva solar-powered EV, to be showcased next month seeks to provide practical as well as sustainable solutions to urban commuting and aims to provide solutions to concerns like limited charging infrastructure, challenges to charge or refuel an as well as a cost-effective way to travel.
With a significantly longer solar-assisted range per charge, rapid charging tech, and advanced tech features, Eva is the affordable solution to various commute concerns like congestion and high fuel costs.
The Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 is all set to welcome India’s first-of-its-kind solar-charged electric vehicle. The company has positioned itself at the forefront of sustainable mobility.
