The lifespan of a Lithium-Ion battery is measured in cycles, where one cycle consists of a full charge and discharge, typically offering a range of 100 kilometers.

The TVS iQube battery is designed to last for about 800 cycles, equating to approximately 75,000 kilometers. If you travel around 30 kilometers per day, this means the battery could last roughly 9 years.

After reaching this point, the battery may still support an additional 500 cycles but with a reduced range of 80% to 90% of its original capacity, translating to 80 to 90 kilometers per charge.

It’s important to note that this range can vary based on several factors, including ambient temperature, riding habits, load, terrain, and discharge rate.

TVS iQube Battery Price & Replacement Cost

The TVS iQube scooter is equipped with lithium-ion batteries, specifically designed with NMC (Nickel Magnesium Cobalt) cell chemistry2.

This type of battery is noted for its reliability and longevity, providing an expected battery life of around 60,000 to 75,000 kilometers under regular usage conditions.

Currently, three battery pack options for the TVS iQube are available: 2.2 kWh, 3.4 kWh, and 5.1 kWh with an IP67 protection rating. 

The company has not specified the exact replacement cost for the TVS iQube battery.

However, media sources estimate that the cost could range from 40% to 50% of the scooter’s price, approximately ₹56,613 to ₹70,766.

The TVS iQube battery is covered under warranty for several years or kilometers, whichever comes first. In the past, the price of lithium, the main and costly component of the battery pack, has decreased by a factor of 3 over the last 8 years.

Consequently, the cost of battery replacement is expected to vary depending on the current price of lithium.

TVS iQube Scooter Warranty

The TVS iQube comes with a 3-year warranty or 50,000 km [whichever is earlier], covering the battery, controller, charger, and motor.

However, the warranty does not cover damage caused by poor maintenance, external factors, or negligent use.

An extended warranty is also available, offering coverage for an additional 2 years or 20,000 kilometers, whichever comes first after the original warranty expires. This extended warranty covers only the battery and applies to the TVS iQube S model and the Electric Smart Xconnect.
