BYD, China’s Multinational Company has some big and exciting news for all electric vehicle enthusiasts!

BYD India will launch its high-class Premium Electric Car BYD M6 in India soon.

A teaser has been released by the company, showing a glimpse of a model featuring penta-element LED headlights and a front grill inspired by the Atto 3, further pointing towards the BYD M6.

This new electric car is expected to replace the earlier model E6, which has already been delisted from BYD’s Indian lineup.

The teaser offers additional clues, such as the phrase “Transformation to new Generation” followed by the number “7,” hinting that it may be a 7-seater.

BYD also referenced the word “Max,” which suggests that the Indian variant might adopt a different name. Possible names include E7, E6 Max, or M7 Max, though the name M6 seems to be the most likely.

Let’s have a look at some of the key specifications of the BYD M6:

BYD M6 Design and Dimensions

BYD embraces the MPV design without attempting to present it as a fake SUV, emphasizing features such as its “Diamond Starlight Levitation LED Headlights. The design appears to be an evolution of the E6, with 17-inch alloy wheels and a ground clearance of 170 mm.

The refreshed BYD M6 now features a modern front design, highlighted by full-LED headlamps with a new LED daytime running light signature. These lights are connected by a sleek satin trim with BYD lettering, giving the vehicle a more refined look.

The front bumper has also been redesigned, with sculpted air vents and chrome accents. At the rear, the M6 facelift includes larger wraparound tail lamps with detailed LED elements, and the rear bumper has been updated with chrome inserts, adding a touch of luxury.

In terms of size, the BYD M6 measures 4,710 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,690 mm in height, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase.

Inside, the BYD M6 will offer a modern and well-equipped cabin, featuring a 12.8-inch rotating infotainment display, a large sunroof, ventilated seats, and wireless charging.

Seating options for six or seven passengers, an electric tailgate, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are also expected to be part of the package.

The updated dashboard of the BYD M6 keeps its familiar layout but with some modern touches. The center console now includes two wireless charging pads, new switch controls, and a sleek drive selector lever.

A new redesigned steering wheel adds a contemporary feel, while the classic analog instrument cluster maintains a traditional element.

BYD M6 Expected Pricing and Launch in India

If BYD introduces a smaller battery version, we expect M6 prices to start significantly lower than the e6’s, priced at Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom).

The BYD M6 was already launched in Indonesia in July 2024, with prices ranging from IDR 379 million (approximately ₹20.6 lakh) to IDR 429 million (around ₹23.3 lakh).

The model is offered in three trims: Standard 7 Seater, Superior 7 Seater, and Superior Captain 6 Seater, with color options including Crystal White, Cosmos Black, Harbour Grey, and Ink Stone Blue.

Launch Date in India

While an exact launch date has not been revealed, the festive season is considered a strategic time for automakers, making it a likely period for the BYD M6’s Indian debut.
