The Tata Urban 9/12m AC electric bus comes with a 186 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that covers a range of 150 km (as per standard tests). This electric bus supports DC fast charging technology, which makes it fully charged in 2-3 hours.

The Urban 9/12m AC Electric Bus is equipped with a regenerative braking system which further enhances its efficiency or range.

Power and Performance

The Starbus Urban 9/12m AC electric bus comes with Real Wheel Drive, which generates 145 kW of continuous power and can deliver a maximum power of 245 kW. It can accelerate from 0-30 kmph in 10.5 seconds. Apart from this, this bus can cover a range of 150 less.

Ashok Leyland did its new pure electric bus Circuit S showcase in 2018. This Electric Bus is 30 Passenger + D Seating Capacity. Circuit S has battery swapping technology Ashok Leyland has opted for battery swapping with Sun Mobility Company. And this company changes the battery in just 2 minutes.

The bus comes with a 500kg Lithium-Ion battery that can provide a range of up to 50km. When the battery is discharged, you can change the battery in 2 minutes at the Sun Mobility Battery Station. The motor and power specifications of this bus have not been revealed yet.

OLECTRA C9 Electric Bus in India

The OLECTRA company has got the contract to manufacture more electric buses in India this year. In this contract 5-6 states together have given 750 electric bus manufacturing. The cost of the olectra electric bus is around 1.5 crores.

This bus is fitted with an electric motor with 80-160kW power. Moreover, it comes with a lot of smart features. Such as Real-time Passenger Information System (PIS), Panic Button for an emergency, Automated Bus Vehicle Location System, CCTV cameras, Public Address System, Stop Request Button, etc.
