Ola Electric recently showcased its latest advancements at its annual event on 15th August, where the company announced the upcoming version of its operating system, MoveOS 5.
The new OS, which powers the S1 range of electric scooters, is set to roll out in a beta program by Diwali. Ola’s upcoming electric motorcycles will also utilize MoveOS 5, integrating cutting-edge features to enhance user experience.

Although the full list of features for MoveOS 5 has yet to be released, several exciting additions have been revealed. The highlighted features are group navigation, live location sharing, and a road trip mode powered by Ola Maps.
Additionally, MoveOS 5 will introduce Smart Charging, Smart Park, TPMS alerts, and a voice assistant, all supported by Ola’s proprietary Krutrim AI assistant. These features offer enhanced convenience and functionality for Ola Electric’s users.
Introduction of the Gen3 Platform
Ola Electric also announced the development of its Gen3 platform during the event, which will serve as the foundation for the brand’s future vehicles.
This platform is expected to bring scalability, improved performance, and greater efficiency to Ola’s offerings while also helping to reduce costs.
The Gen3 platform underscores Ola’s commitment to innovation and its strategic focus on developing advanced electric vehicle technology.
Bharat 4680 Cell Development
In a move to enhance its technological self-sufficiency, Ola Electric revealed that it will begin integrating its cells, starting in Q1 FY26. Named the Bharat 4680, this cell is currently undergoing trial production at Ola’s Gigafactory.
The Bharat 4680 is designed to offer a wider operating temperature range (10-70°C), a longer lifespan with over 1,000 charge cycles, and enhanced fast-charging capabilities, including the ability to reach 50% charge in just 13 minutes.
Expansion of Ola’s Electric Scooter Lineup
At the Sankalp event, Ola announced its plan to expand its electric scooter range by introducing two new sub-brands: S2 and S3.
This strategic move will bring five new models to their lineup, with the S2 series featuring three scooters—City, Tourer, and Sports—catering to various riding needs.
The S3 series will include two premium maxi-scooters, the Grand Adventure and Grand Tourer, which promise luxury and enhanced performance.
