Aiming to capture a larger share of the premium EV market, Xiaomi plans to launch the YU7 by mid-2025, positioning it as a competitor to the Tesla Model Y.
According to filings by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Xiaomi YU7 electric SUV will measure 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. The vehicle’s kerb weight is listed at 2,405 kg, and it will feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain.
The dual-motor setup includes a 220 kW (295 bhp) front motor and a 288 kW (386 bhp) rear motor, delivering a combined output of 508 kW (681 bhp). This makes the YU7 more powerful than the SU7 Max, which offers 664 bhp. This enhanced performance underscores Xiaomi’s push to compete in the premium electric SUV market.
