Share

Aiming to promote the sale and use of electric vehicles in Uttar Pradesh, the state government on Wednesday launched a subsidy portal which will provide financial support to customers who bought EVs after 14th October 2022. Those who have purchased and registered electric vehicles in Uttar Pradesh after the notification date of the policy will be eligible for the subsidy.

This scheme is effective from 14th October 2022 and will continue till 13th October 2023.

How to Apply EV Subsidy Online-

For availing of the subsidy, one has to apply on the portal upevsubsidy.in Once the application is submitted, the subsidy amount will be transferred to the customer’s bank account after the successful completion of a four level verification process.

The verification process begins with verification at the dealer level, followed by registration and departmental verification. The final verification is carried out by the Transport Inspector. Depending on the information provided on the portal, the banking partner will transfer the subsidy amount to their bank account within 3 working days after the verification process is completed. Subsidy on EVs is payable to individuals as well as to aggregators or fleet buyers.

The subsidy will be provided as an early bird incentive to buyers at fixed rates in defined segments during a period of one year from the date of notification. As per the policy, two-wheeler electric vehicles will get Rs 5,000 per EV subsidy for the first two lakh purchases, not exceeding 15 percent of the ex-factory cost.

For electric four wheelers, the subsidy will be Rs 1 lakh per EV for 25,000 earlier purchases, not exceeding 15 percent of the ex-factory cost. For buyers purchasing EVs without batteries, the subsidy amount will be 50 percent of the total. This initiative is part of the Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy, 2022 which includes a purchase subsidy incentive scheme. Uttar Pradesh Development Systems Corporation Ltd (UPDESCO) is entrusted with the development and maintenance of the portal.
