in India’s rapidly growing electric two-wheeler (E2W) market, TVS Motor Company has secured the No.1 position in Electric two-wheeler sales for April 2025, marking the first time the legacy automaker has led the monthly rankings.
According to Electric Two Weeler Sales Data – April 2025, TVS narrowly surpassed the long-time leader Ola Electric & Bajaj Chetak in a month that saw intense competition at the top.
TVS Motor recorded retail sales of 19,736 units of its popular iQube electric scooter in April 2025.
This performance represents a remarkable growth of 154% year-on-year as compared to 7,762 units sold in April 2024 and gave TVS a market share of around 22% for the month.
Ola Electric, which has been at the top spot for several months in a row, secured the second spot with 19,709 units, only 27 units behind TVS. This resulted in a market share of around 21%.
While Ola remains a dominant force, this reflects a change in the leadership hierarchy for the start of the new financial year (FY26).
Compared to March 2025 sales (23,430 units), Ola witnessed a decline of around 15.9% month-on-month.

The competition for the top spot in the Indian electric two-wheeler market was incredibly tight in April, with Bajaj Auto coming in at the third spot.
Bajaj registered 19,001 units of its Chetak electric scooter, also securing a 21% market share and registering a robust 151% year-on-year growth.
However, this was a significant drop from its chart-topping performance in March 2025 (34,863 units), likely influenced by anticipation of its newly launched Chetak variants.
Collectively, the top four electric two-wheeler manufacturers in India are – TVS, Ola Electric, Bajaj Auto and Ather Energy – which account for nearly 78% of the total e2W market in April 2025.
Despite month-on-month volume declines for most key players, compared to a potentially high March (often boosted by fiscal year-end targets), the overall e2W segment started FY26 strongly.
Total electric two-wheeler sales reached 91,791 units in April 2025, marking a robust 40% year-on-year growth and the best-ever performance for the first month of any fiscal year.
Tight competition between TVS, Ola Electric and Bajaj Auto sets the stage for the Indian electric two-wheeler market to be highly competitive for the year ahead as consumer adoption continues to accelerate.
