Tata Motors Records 47,063 Domestic Sales in NovemberIn November 2024, Tata Motors achieved a significant milestone with a domestic sale of 47,063 units, including electric vehicles (EVs), reflecting a modest 2% year-on-year growth.

This performance marks a notable achievement for the company, showcasing its consistent market presence. The electric vehicle segment has played a crucial role in this success, with Tata Motors reporting a 9% increase in EV sales compared to the previous year.

Domestic Sales Overview
Tata Motors’ sales in November showed a stable domestic performance, with a slight increase in overall vehicle sales. The total sales of 47,063 units in November 2024, up from 46,068 units in the previous year, indicate steady growth.

In the electric vehicle category, the company reported a positive uptick, with 5,202 units sold in November 2024 compared to 4,761 units in the same month the previous year, marking a 9% growth.

However, compared to October 2024, the growth was less impressive, with a slight dip in EV sales to 5,355 units.

Tata Motors continues to lead the Indian electric vehicle market with an impressive 65% share in the passenger electric vehicle segment. Within the personal EV segment, the company holds an even higher share of 67%.

Expanding the Electric Vehicle Portfolio: Harrier EV and Sierra EV
Tata Motors is expanding its electric vehicle portfolio, with plans to introduce two premium EVs: the Harrier EV and the Sierra EV. The Harrier EV, which is expected to debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in 2025, will compete against other premium electric SUVs in the market.

The production version of the Harrier EV is set to retain most design elements of the ICE-powered Tata Harrier, but it will feature significant changes, including a closed panel in place of the grille and a fresh set of alloy wheels.

Tata Harrier EV: Design and Features
The Tata Harrier EV will maintain the overall design of the Harrier but will be adapted to meet the requirements of an electric vehicle. Notable exterior changes include revised front and rear bumpers, a closed panel instead of a radiator grille, and the absence of an exhaust.

Inside, the Harrier EV will feature a large touchscreen infotainment system, a contemporary steering wheel with a backlit logo, and advanced features such as a 360-degree surround-view camera, panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, and an air purifier.

Tata Sierra EV: Design and Features
Tata Motors is also gearing up for the launch of the Sierra EV, a 5-door version of the iconic 3-door model originally launched in the 1990s. Expected to arrive in the second half of 2025, the Sierra EV will feature a modern design while retaining the original’s boxy, rugged look. The concept version of the Sierra EV includes updated design elements such as a sleek LED strip across the front, a revised front bumper, and a chunky skid plate.

While the design retains some of the original’s character, expect changes to the alloy wheels and other details in the production version.

Final Thoughts
With the expansion of its electric vehicle portfolio and continued leadership in the EV market, Tata Motors is solidifying its position in India’s transition to electric mobility. The company’s plans to launch the Harrier EV and Sierra EV in the coming years demonstrate its commitment to diversifying its offerings and catering to the growing demand for premium electric vehicles.

As Tata Motors moves towards launching more EV models, the company’s continued growth in this segment is poised to play a key role in shaping the future of electric mobility in India.
