Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce a range of electric vehicles to the Indian market. The company has announced the launch of the Curvv EV and Harrier EV in FY25, followed by the Sierra EV and Avinya models in FY26.
To support these new vehicles, Tata Motors is also working on significantly expanding its public charging network, aiming to grow from over 10,000 chargers to over 1 lakh chargers by FY30. The community charging network is expected to expand from 4,300+ to 1 lakh chargers by the same year.
Tata Motors has confirmed that its upcoming electric vehicles will be equipped with high-energy-density batteries capable of fast charging.
These vehicles will feature high-performance electric motors, all-wheel-drive drivetrains, and new displays with EV-specific user interfaces. They will also support OTA updates, connected car technology, and in-car app suites. Additional features include vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle charging, a frunk, and various driving modes.
Let’s take a quick look at the expected features and specifications of the upcoming Tata Electric cars:
The Tata Avinya EV concept promises a range of over 500 km. It is expected to feature dual electric motors, each powering one axle, providing all-wheel drive. The production version might also include a quad-motor setup for enhanced performance.
The Curvv EV is anticipated to offer a range of 500 km on its top-spec model. Tata Motors is also expected to provide a lower-spec version with a reduced range, making the Curvv EV accessible to a broader audience.
Tata Motors is reviving the Sierra nameplate for a new electric SUV. The design patent has been filed, and the Sierra EV will likely feature an electric all-wheel-drive system, echoing the original Sierra’s 4×4 capabilities.
