Bajaj Auto to launch next gen Chetak e scooter on Dec 20 Next-gen New Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter will be launched on December 20 https://e-vehicleinfo.com/next-gen-new-bajaj-chetak-electric-scooter/

Bajaj Auto, renowned for its classic Chetak electric scooter, is set to launch a major upgrade—the next-generation Chetak E-scooter on December 20. This upcoming update is strategically designed to improve its practicality, ensuring that Chetak remains a strong competitor in the electric scooter market.

From January to November 2024, retail sales reached 174,909 units, reflecting an impressive 184% year-on-year growth. The Chetak continues to appeal to a wide range of customers.

Here are some key details about the upcoming Chetak e-Scooter:

Enhanced Practicality with Redesigned Chassis

Bajaj Auto has focused on improving storage space in the new Chetak to compete with rivals such as the Ather Rizta, Ola S1, and TVS iQube.

In a recent teaser image, Bajaj Auto used the phrase “Fully Lifeproof,” hinting at a strong emphasis on safety. This suggests that the upcoming scooter might introduce a range of new safety features.

Additionally, the battery is anticipated to be relocated to the footboard, which could enhance practicality by increasing the available under-seat storage space.

The redesigned chassis relocates the battery pack beneath the floorboard, significantly increasing boot space.

This thoughtful modification aligns Chetak with its competitors, catering to user demands for better utility without compromising performance.

Potential for Improved Battery Performance

The updated Chetak may feature an enhanced battery pack design, potentially increasing its capacity and offering a longer range.

While major improvements are not expected, this update could slightly extend the current IDC range, which varies between 123 and 137 km depending on the model. Read more: Bajaj Chetak vs TVS iQube vs Ola S1 Pro Gen 2: Which is the Best Electric Scooter in India?

These enhancements aim to deliver a more practical riding experience while maintaining efficiency.

Preserved Design with Minor Visual Updates

The Chetak’s iconic design has earned widespread approval across all age groups, and Bajaj Auto plans to retain this popular aesthetic.

Although no significant changes are expected, introducing new color schemes may offer a fresh look.

New Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Price and Launch

The new-generation Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is expected to debut in mid-December 2024. Prices are anticipated to remain close to the current range of ₹96,000 to ₹1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

With this update, Bajaj Auto aims to solidify the Chetak’s position as a premium, practical, and appealing choice for electric scooter enthusiasts.
