The Tata Harrier is a popular SUV from the brand, renowned for its robust design and advanced features.
The much-awaited Tata Harrier EV has been spotted several times last year. And today the Harrier EV (electrified version of the Harrier ICE) was spotted at a performance track in Coimbatore ahead of its launch this month. The Harrier EV is expected to launch alongside Tata’s flagship SUV, the Tata Sierra EV at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
The Tata Harrier EV is estimated to have a starting price of approximately 25 lakhs, making it a premium yet affordable electric SUV.
On the other hand, it will incorporate a new sleek and minimalist design for the EV model. The Harrier EV features a closed-off grille, providing a sleek front fascia. Meanwhile, the redesigned front and rear bumper offer a sleek and distinctive look from the ICE model.
Tata Harrier EV is anticipated to carry the same design language showcased at the Auto Expo. The prototype of the Tata Harrier EV was spotted testing recently. Minimal changes were spotted between the production and concept versions, suggesting that the brand plans to retain its design language.
The Tata Harrier EV is anticipated to be a feature-rich electric SUV from the brand. It is expected to feature a panoramic sunroof, sleek LED lights, ventilated front seats, a large touchscreen infotainment display, a digital driver’s display, dual-zone automatic AC, wireless charging, and many more advanced features.
In terms of charging, the Harrier EV is anticipated to support fast charging infrastructure and come equipped with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) capabilities as well for enhanced performance.
The Tata Harrier EV is also anticipated to be equipped with safety features like a Level 2 ADAS system, multiple airbags, a 360-degree HD camera, electronic stability control, etc.
The Tata Harrier ICE version is based on the brand’s OMEGA architecture, which is a re-engineered version of the Land Rover D8 platform.
However, the Tata Harrier EV is expected to be built on the brand’s Acti.EV platform, which currently underpins the Curvv EV and will also underpin the brand’s future lineup. This dedicated electric vehicle platform is designed to accommodate both all-wheel-drive (AWD) and forward-wheel-drive (FWD) options.
The Harrier EV is anticipated to feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup, for enhanced performance and versatility. However, the entry-level variants are anticipated to offer a single-motor forward-wheel drive setup, making the EV more accessible.
Tata Motors has not yet unveiled the battery specifications of the Harrier EV. However, it is anticipated to have a high-capacity powerful battery, with its capacity ranging from 60 kWh to 80 kWh approx, offering an estimated range of around 550 kilometers on a full charge.
With an impressive range, fast charging capabilities, advanced tech, and safety features, Tata Motors aims to redefine the electric SUV segment with the launch of the Harrier EV.
In conclusion, the brand is gearing up to strengthen its presence in the Indian EV market with this upcoming launch. This is also anticipated to contribute significantly to the growth of electric mobility in 2025 and drive the EV revolution in India.
