Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e Price, Range, and All Features

Mahindra Automotive is all set to make a significant impact on the EV market by introducing its new-age electric range today. Mahindra has globally showcased its exciting series of electric SUVs with the public at its “Mahindra Unlimit Event” in Chennai.

The new range of Mahindra electric SUVs will be underpinned by the in house developed platform called INGLO. Its name is a combination of the brand’s foundation and its vision- IN for India and GLO for Global.

This new platform is designed to withstand Indian driving conditions along with global parameters. The architecture comes with intuitive packaging and various other features. It is designed to deliver an excellent driving experience, which includes top safety standards, great performance, impressive range and efficiency.

Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e Launch & Deliveries

The Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e will make their debut in the Indian Electric Market in January next year and deliveries will start by February 2025.

Crafted From Scratch

Pratap Bose, the Design Head at Mahindra, highlighted how the design of both these electric SUVs has been crafted from scratch. “It was the first time in my career that I received a blank paper to work on. It was also about taking care of the smallest factors like functional areas, of our digital design processes, of materials, colors and more,” he said.

Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e Prices

Mahindra Electric appears to aiming for both mass-market as well as the premium segment with the pricing of these electric offerings.

The brand has aimed the XEV brand for a premium range of buyers, different from those associated with the BE brand. Products under XEV brand will be much more luxurious and premium and the 9E will be their first and most expensive offering under this brand.

The Mahindra XEV 9e will be available with an introductory price of Rs. 21.90 lakh whilst the BE 6e would get an introductory price of Rs. 18.90 lakh. These prices are just for the Pack 1 variant, pricing for the rest of the variants would be revealed later on.

The XEV 9e will be available with a starting price of 50 lakhs and can go upto 70 lakhs in the global market.

Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e Dimensions

Mahindra XEV 9e has a length of 4,789 mm, a ground clearance of 207 mm, and battery ground clearance of 222 mm. It has a spacious boot capacity of 663 liters and a front trunk of 150 liters.

Mahindra BE 6e has a length of 4,371 mm, a ground clearance of 207 mm and battery ground clearance of 218mm. It has a boot space of 455 liters and a front trunk of 45 liters.

Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e Performance

Mahindra XEV 9e would be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.8 seconds while the BE 6e would be able to achieve the same in 6.7 seconds. Both Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e will offer a power of 288 bhp and a peak torque of 380 nm.

Both the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e get an impressive real-world range of 500 kms!

Battery

The Mahindra XEV 9e gets two battery pack choices – 59 kWh and 79 kWh LFP batteries. It comes paired with one powertrain that consists of a motor, an inverter, and a transmission. The bigger 79 kWh battery produces a power of 286 bhp and a peak power of 380 nm whilst the smaller 59 kWh one produces a power of 231 bhp.

The battery can be charged using a 175 kW DC fast charger which would have the capability to charge the electric vehicle from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes. 

Key Design Elements

Both the SUVs get a new logo on the bonnet, feature an enormous sunroof and feature sharper designs than any of the Mahindra models in existence.

The BE 6e is a compact electric SUV with a futuristic as well as sporty design, featuring sharp lines and angular elements. It shall stand tall in it’s 20-inch alloy wheels available in the top variant. 

Whilst, the XEV 9e has a much more elegant and sophisticated design, highlighted by connected LED lighting and a sloping roofline. It gets jewel-like headlights, a glowing logo, broad shoulder lines, and end-to-end tail lamps. It also features a glass roof and generous space to stand out.

Interior

Both the XEV 9e and BE 6e feature an almost squared steering wheel with an illuminated logo and haptic buttons. Both of them sport varied gear shift levers on the center console. The steering wheel also gets paddle shifters, toggle buttons as well as ADAS buttons on the right side. 

Best-In-Class Audio System

The Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e will feature a Harman Kardon sound system, powered by Mahindra Sonic Studio, which the brand claims as the world’s best in-car audio system.

Enhanced Protection

Mahindra claims that both these electric SUVs will feature an exclusive glass coating that would be able to offer enhanced protection from UV rays as well as feature an advanced air filtration system. This would also result in quicker cooling of the cabin.

Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e Key Features

The Mahindra XEV 9e is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, while the BE 6e may offer a fixed glass roof.

Both the electric SUVs shall also get impressive features, including a triple screen setup for 9e and dual integrated screens for 6e, a heads-up display with an augmented navigation system, ventilated front seats, best-in-class sound system packages, wireless charging, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, etc. 

Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e shall feature three modes: Race, Range, and Everyday. They shall also get three ambient mood-setting options in the cabin: Cabin, Calm, and Cozy. Every minute detail like the ambiance, lighting, climate, etc of the cabin would be matched according to the mood selected. 

Safety Features

The safety kit on both electric SUVs shall also include multiple airbags (as standard), a 360-degree camera comprising of 5 cameras, Auto-Park Function, Blind Spot Monitoring, Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with Driver Initiated Lane Change Assist, and much more.

Warranty Details

Mahindra has made a huge claim of offering a lifetime warranty on their battery inside both the XEV 9e and BE 6e. However, it would be applicable for only and only private registrations and first owners. For second owners, the validity will be up to 2,00,000 or 10 years of age of the vehicle, whichever is earlier.

Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e Bookings

Both these electric SUVs would be available for bookings through the official sales channel of the brand as well as through their showrooms across the nation.
