Mahindra is preparing to expand its electric vehicle lineup with a new electric SUV, the battery-powered version of the XUV 3XO. This new addition to Mahindra’s EV portfolio has recently been spotted undergoing testing, signaling that it is nearing its official launch.
The XUV 3XO EV will feature some design updates compared to its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart.
Spotted in full camouflage, the EV version will retain the C-shaped LED daytime running lamps and the front grille from the ICE version, with some tweaks like redesigned bumpers, a revised grille, and distinct badging.
The new model will also come with unique alloy wheels, possibly featuring plastic inserts to enhance efficiency.
Positioned below the XUV400, the XUV 3XO EV will be a smaller offering in Mahindra’s electric SUV range. It will share its sub-4-metre dimensions with the ICE version, making it around 200mm shorter than the XUV400.
Consequently, the XUV 3XO EV is expected to offer less boot space compared to its larger sibling.
Battery Packs | 35 kWh (Expected) |
Range | ~375 km (Expected) |
Charging Support | AC and DC fast charging |
Electric Motor Output | Lower power and torque (Expected) |
The XUV 3XO EV is expected to be equipped with a 35kWh battery, which is smaller than the 40kWh battery found in the XUV400 EV.
Although specific details about the range and motor specifications have not been disclosed, it is anticipated that the XUV 3XO EV will be priced lower than the XUV400.
The XUV 3XO EV will compete with the Tata Nexon EV, which currently dominates the market with prices ranging from Rs 14.49 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh.
