The Honda Clarity EV was the recent EV launched in the United States, but many individuals do not remember this syncopated-looking sedan, it was the brand’s recent attempt to sell an electric car in the States.
However, it faced challenges due to its limited 89-mile range estimate, lease-only availability, and restricted distribution to California and Oregon.
Honda is coming back in the American electric vehicle market with the 2024 Prologue, thanks to GM’s versatile Ultium battery platform.
The Prologue’s design is a product of Honda’s Los Angeles design team, showcasing meticulous attention to detail with its sleek exterior surfaces and well-proportioned body characterized by short overhangs.
While its design ethos might appear relatively minimalist compared to some of its competitors bearing Kia or Hyundai badges, it exudes a certain understated elegance.
Notably, the top-tier model comes equipped with 21-inch wheels, which harmonize with the vehicle’s overall aesthetics and proportions, adding to its visual appeal.
Upon entering the Prologue’s interior, one is greeted by a harmonious and tasteful layout. The design philosophy is refreshingly straightforward, maintaining the presence of physical buttons and knobs on the dashboard.
This nod to tactile controls is a nod to practicality and ease of use.
Additionally, the column-mounted shifter and the adaptable center console design deserve praise.
The spacious cupholders that can comfortably accommodate 32-ounce containers and the ample storage area between the upper and lower console levels demonstrate a thoughtful design for everyday usability.
From a passenger perspective, the Prologue offers generous legroom in both the front and rear compartments, enhancing overall comfort.
However, taller individuals occupying the rear seats might experience limitations in headroom, particularly in models featuring a panoramic sunroof.
The rear seats are designed to offer a slight recline, providing passengers with customizable comfort. In terms of cargo space, there’s a practical 25 cubic feet of storage behind the rear seats, and expanding the cargo area is as simple as folding down the rear seatbacks, which opens up a capacious 58 cubic feet.
Additionally, an extra storage compartment is tucked beneath the cargo floor, enhancing the vehicle’s utility. Regrettably, due to the positioning of the front electric motor, the Prologue lacks a front trunk (frunk), which could have provided even more storage options.

Customers can place orders for the EV SUV before the year’s end, with deliveries slated to commence in early 2024.
The 2024 Honda Prologue presents an enticing package for electric SUV enthusiasts. With three trim levels to choose from and a range of features that cater to varying preferences, it offers versatility and choice.
Standard tech features like the 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster and an impressive 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, powered by Google software and offering wireless smartphone integration, enhance the overall driving experience.
