Honda is currently focusing on expanding its electric portfolio. The EICMA is a platform where global automakers get the opportunity to share their electric vision and showcase their future lineup of products.
Honda has seized this opportunity to unveil two of its fully electric bike concepts named EV Fun and EV Urban at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy.
Even though the EV Fun concept is in the concept stage of development, the presence of finalized brakes and suspension hints that it is in a rather advanced stage.
The vehicle panels appear to be well put together and the single sided swingarm is a nice touch. The headlight setup of the EV Fun concept can become a key highlight for Indian audiences because of it’s similarity to the Ola Roadster.
The company also claims that the e-bike would have a cruising range of over 100km.
Its battery would be compatible with a CCS2 quick charger i.e the same one used for cars. This would help optimize charging performance as well as create more options for charging.
The EV Urban Concept is a model that will incorporate Honda’s vision of urban mobility with its excellent specs, great design, cutting-edge technology and in-house developed battery.
The introduction of these two electric bike concepts is in sync with Honda’s objective to achieve carbon neutrality for all of its motorbike products in the 2040s and achieve overall carbon neutrality by 2050.
Honda is working to electrify its portfolio as its future sustainable strategy. It has marked the year 2024 as the entry point into the electric bike segment starting with the global launch of its electric bikes, then positioned the time up to 2026 as the time of market entry and beyond that as the time for business growth.
Honda is making continuous efforts to create a full range of electric bikes to meet the diversified needs of consumers as well as to promote the faster adoption of electric vehicles.
With the addition of these EV Concepts, Honda is making excellent progress in shaping its electric portfolio. It aims to expand its market share globally through its efforts and become the leading business in the electric two-wheeler segment as well.
