Among Indian top motorcycle manufacturers, Honda Motorcycle & Scooters India has a successful market share with its reliable and powerful product line-up.
The brand’s Activa remains a strong seller in India.
At the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers’ 64th Annual Convention in Delhi, we spoke with Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Ltd. CEO Tsutsumu Otani. Activa has been the best-selling scooter for nearly two decades, according to Otani.
According to HMSI CEO Tsutsumu Otani, the brand has already delayed an electric scooter launch for at least a year. and now the company is preparing to launch its first electric vehicle (Activa Electric) in March 2025.
We are expecting that the biggest feature that we all expect from the electric Activa is that it will have a removable/replaceable battery.
This will make it easier to charge the scooter and make it convenient to carry it with you instead of carrying a very long charging cable from your home to where you park your scooter.
Also, if we talk about the Honda Electric Active design, the electric Activa will have the same dimensions and might be slightly lighter than the current Activa.
The electric Activa will have an all-LED headlamp and indicators.
We expect the electric scooter to come with disc brakes at both the front and rear. The instrument cluster will be fully digital with Bluetooth connectivity as these features are becoming standard in electric scooters these days.
