Honda Two Wheeler India today launched the electric version of its best-selling scooter Activa. Called Activa e, the new Honda Active e-scooter comes with two Honda Mobile Power Pack e: swappable batteries as the power source. 

The two-wheeler manufacturer has also announced the launch of another scooter QC1 which has a fixed battery.

Activa Electric is set to launch in three major Indian cities—Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, and Mumbai—starting February 2025, with bookings opening in January 2025.

To further enhance the EV experience, Honda will introduce its Honda e: Swap battery-sharing service, utilizing the Honda Mobile Power Pack e, available in these cities as well.

ACTIVA e:

Design and looks

The Honda Activa e: is built on a completely new platform with a design that retains the simplicity and charm of the original Activa, while incorporating several modern updates. The headlight and tail light are both LED units, enhancing its contemporary appeal. It rides on 12-inch wheels, supported by a telescopic fork, and features a single rear shock for a smooth ride.

Features

The Honda Activa e: comes equipped with three ride modes—Econ, Standard, and Sport. These modes can be switched through a 5-inch LCD on the QC 1 variant, while the higher-end Activa e: Roadsync Duo trim gets an upgraded 7-inch TFT screen.
This larger screen unlocks a range of features, such as full map navigation, music and call controls, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. Furthermore, Honda offers a smart key fob as standard with the Activa e: providing additional functionalities like Smart Safe, Smart Find, Smart Start, and Smart Unlock.

Warranty

The Honda Activa e: will be available exclusively through select Honda Red Wing dealerships. This distribution method hints at an affordable pricing strategy, with the exact price to be revealed on January 1, 2025.

 

In terms of warranty, the Honda Activa e: will come with a 3-year or 50,000 km coverage, along with three free services during the first year. To enhance the overall customer experience, Honda will also offer complimentary roadside assistance for the first year.

QC1:

Design and looks

The QC 1 has a design similar to the Honda Activa e: both are built on a completely new platform. The design maintains a simple yet appealing aesthetic, with the headlights featuring a near-future flush-surface design that gives the scooter an iconic look. High-intensity LEDs enhance visibility, providing a greater sense of security during nighttime rides.

The 5-inch LCD instrument panel is highly legible, displaying the speed and other essential information such as the battery level indicator, offering enhanced convenience for the rider.

Features

The Honda QC1 features a spacious luggage compartment under the seat, allowing users to store a helmet and other small items. Additionally, it comes with an inner rack and a USB Type-C socket in the front section, providing convenient charging for mobile devices. These thoughtful features make the QC1 an ideal option for everyday use. 

Warranty

Pricing of Activa e and Honda QC1

Honda hasn’t revealed the pricing of both scooters. Both scooters are set to launch in spring 2025, with pricing to be announced in January. 

Honda’s Vision for Electric Motorcycles and Sustainability

Honda aims to achieve carbon neutrality in all its products and corporate activities by 2050, with a focus on carbon-neutral motorcycles in the 2040s. As part of this plan, the company is prioritizing the electrification of motorcycles.

In 2024, Honda will begin its global expansion into the electric motorcycle market, introducing the ACTIVA e: and QC1 as part of its target to launch 30 electric models globally by 2030. These two models mark significant steps in Honda’s strategy, with manufacturing based in India to meet the growing demand for electric mobility in the region.

Additionally, Honda Power Pack Energy India Private Limited will launch its e: Swap battery-sharing service in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai, offering customers a convenient and reliable electric mobility experience.

Moving forward, Honda plans to expand its lineup of electric motorcycles to cater to a diverse range of customer needs.
