Tesla Model Y SUV Relaunched
Late evening this Monday, Tesla Inc. launched a rear-wheel-drive version of its bestselling Model Y SUV in the U.S.
The new RWD Model Y’s standard range starts at $43,990, which is almost $7,500 less than an all-wheel drive Long Range with the advertised range of 330 miles. This new Model Y RWD has a driving range of 242-260 miles per charge, depending on the wheel size.
The Tesla Model Y RWD is available for sale on Tesla’s website, and you can expect the delivery of your car as early as this month’s end.
Reason Behind Price-cut
According to the reports, Tesla has tweaked the price of the model several times a year and has again reduced it due to lower vehicle deliveries in the third quarter than anticipated, which talks logic.
Tesla has not just made a variation with the pricing of Model Y, but it has been twitching the prices of many other vehicles. It makes sense for Tesla to adjust its prices frequently this year because it is trying to keep up with the growing competition and inflation in the electric vehicle market.
Earlier Price-Cuts
In early 2023, it briefly offered lower-cost versions of its Model S and Model X, which are its most expensive cars, but soon discontinued them and replaced them with less expensive all-wheel-drive models that have longer ranges. Tesla dropped each of these vehicles’ prices by $10,000 to make them monetarily competent in the market.
Conclusion
It seems more like Telsa is scrambling its prices out of panic or just to compete in the market. But it also seems like this is more of a company’s tactic to know the bend of customers. It might be that Tesla is doing this to see whether customers are buying more of less-priced vehicles or higher-priced vehicles with more diving range. However, even if the customers are willing to purchase higher-range vehicles, there are also customers who prefer lower-priced vehicles, so having them is not bad either.
