electric scooters with fast charging

As someone passionate about sustainable transportation and the future of mobility, I’ve been closely following the electric scooter revolution in India.

One of the most exciting developments in this space is the advancement in fast charging technology. Gone are the days when you’d have to wait hours for your scooter to charge—now, some models can power up in less than an hour.

This is a game-changer, especially in a fast-paced country like India, where time is often of the essence.

Imagine you’re on a road trip, zipping through scenic routes, and your scooter’s battery starts running low. You pull into a charging station, plug in, and within a short break, you’re back on the road with a nearly full charge.

That’s the convenience fast charging brings, and it’s transforming how we think about electric scooters.

In this article, I will tell you about five electric scooters available in India that offer lightning-speed charging.

These models—Ultraviolette Tesseract, Ola S1 Pro Gen 3, Vida V2 Pro, Ather 450x Gen 3, and Simple One S—are setting new benchmarks for convenience, efficiency, and performance.  Let’s dive in!

Top 5 Electric Scooters with Fast Charging Speed in India

Simple One S 3 hours 47 minutes 181 105 1.40 Lakh

1. Ultraviolette Tesseract

Ultraviolette is a brand that’s been pushing the boundaries of electric mobility, and their Tesseract model is a true testament to innovation. What makes the Tesseract stand out is its incredibly fast charging time—less than an hour to reach 80% charge. Here is Ultraviolette Tesseract Review: Top 5 Reasons to Buy this Electric Scooter?

That’s one of the quickest charging speeds I’ve come across, making it perfect for riders who are always on the go.

But the Tesseract isn’t just about speed in charging; it’s also a powerhouse in terms of performance. With a range of up to 261 km on a single charge, it’s ideal for long-distance travel.

Plus, its top speed of 125 kmph makes it one of the fastest electric scooters available in India.

And the best part? It starts for Rs. 1.20 Lakh, which is surprisingly affordable for the cutting-edge technology it offers.

If you’re looking for a scooter that combines rapid charging, long range, and thrilling speed, the Ultraviolette Tesseract should be at the top of your list.

2. Ola S1 Pro Gen 3

Next up is the Ola S1 Pro Gen 3, a scooter that’s been generating a lot of excitement—and for good reason.

Ola Electric has been a trailblazer in India’s electric mobility sector, and this model showcases their commitment to innovation. When it comes to fast charging, the S1 Pro Gen 3 is a standout.

Using Ola’s fast charging network, you can get 75 km of range in just 18 minutes, which translates to roughly 34 minutes for an 80% charge. That’s incredibly quick and perfect for those who need to top up during short breaks.

Beyond charging, the S1 Pro Gen 3 offers a solid range of 176 km on a single charge, making it versatile for both city commutes and longer rides. Its top speed of 117 kmph also makes it one of the fastest in its class.

Priced between Rs. 1.15 – 1.40 Lakh, it strikes a great balance between performance and value.

For anyone seeking a scooter that’s fast in every sense—charging, speed, and acceleration—the Ola S1 Pro Gen 3 is a fantastic choice.

3. Vida V2 Pro

The Vida V2 Pro is another exciting option, especially for those who want fast charging without breaking the bank. Vida may be a newer player in the electric scooter market, but they’ve quickly made a name for themselves with their focus on innovation and affordability.

The V2 Pro’s fast charging capability is impressive—it takes about 65 minutes to go from 0 to 80%. That’s quick enough to fit into a lunch break or a quick stop at a café.

With a range of 165 km on a single charge, the V2 Pro is well-suited for daily commutes and weekend getaways.

Its top speed of 90 kmph is more than adequate for urban and suburban riding.

At Rs. 1.35 Lakh, it offers a compelling mix of features and affordability.

If you’re after a scooter that delivers fast charging, decent range, and a budget-friendly price, the Vida V2 Pro deserves your attention.

4. Ather 450x Gen 3

Ather Energy has been a pioneer in the electric scooter space, and the Ather 450x Gen 3 is a reflection of their dedication to quality and performance.

This scooter is a favorite among riders for its sleek design and advanced features, but it’s the fast charging that sets it apart.

Using Ather’s fast charging network, you can charge the 450x Gen 3 to 80% in approximately 67 minutes.

That’s quick enough to keep you moving without long waits.

The 450x Gen 3 offers a range of 126 km on a single charge, which is perfect for city commuting and short trips. Its top speed of 90 kmph ensures you can navigate urban traffic with ease.

While it’s priced a bit higher, between Rs. 1.49 – 1.79 Lakh, the premium build quality and features make it worth the investment.

For those who value fast charging, a solid range, and a premium riding experience, the Ather 450x Gen 3 is a top contender in our list.

5. Simple One S

And finally, on my list is the Simple One S. Yes, a scooter that has been gaining a lot of attention due to its impressive range and affordable price. This month, the company has changed the name of its scooter from Simple Dot One to One S and re-launched it in India.

When it comes to charging, the Simple One S takes approximately 3 hours and 47 minutes for a 0-80% charge using a home charger.

While this isn’t the fastest on my list, it’s still respectable and offers a good balance of convenience and efficiency.

What shines with the Simple One S is its range—181 km on a single charge, which is excellent for longer commutes or day trips. Its top speed of 105 kmph also makes it versatile for both city and highway riding.

Priced at Rs. 1.40 Lakh, it’s a great option for those who want a feature-rich scooter without a hefty price tag.

Simple Energy has been in the news for a long time, due to its false promises and uncertain delivery dates. It has not been able to gain popularity, and customers are not very happy with it, yet they have launched a good electric scooter with great features and performance.

Final Thoughts

The electric scooter market in India is evolving very fast, and fast charging technology is at the heart of this transformation.

We Indians love range and charging speed, as these are the things people think about the most when switching from a petrol scooter to an electric scooter.

The five electric scooters I’ve highlighted—Ultraviolette Tesseract, Ola S1 Pro Gen 3, Vida V2 Pro, Ather 450x Gen 3, and Simple One S—are leading the way with their impressive charging speeds and overall performance.

Whether you prioritize the fastest charging times, the longest range, or the best value for your money, there’s a scooter on this list that’s built to suit your needs.

When you consider your options, think about what matters most to you. Is it the ability to charge in under an hour, or do you want a balance of features and an affordable price? Whatever your priorities, these scooters are sure to impress.
