Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited (GEMPL), the e-mobility division of Greaves Cotton Limited, launched its first high-performance family electric scooter, the Ampere Nexus, on April 30, 2024.

Designed, developed, and manufactured entirely in India, the Ampere Nexus boasts several groundbreaking innovations and class-leading specifications. Since its launch, the scooter has garnered significant attention.

Design and Looks of Ampere Nexus

The Ampere Nexus features a premium design inspired by the global symbol of mobility, the Arctic Tern, and iconic Indian heritage, such as the celestial dancer sculpture, Apsara. Its clean, dual-tone front includes the brightest Diamond cut headlamp integrated into the handlebar, creating a striking visual.

The scooter’s seamless design, with no visible nuts, bolts, or panel gaps, extends from the front to the rear, adding to its sleekness. Hidden rear footrests and grab handles enhance its minimalist look, while full LED lighting gives it a modern appeal.

Premium piano buttons evoke a 4-wheeler aesthetic for added sophistication.

 It also boasts XXL boot space, large enough to fit an XL helmet, and more. The functional design extends to the front storage, or “frunk,” which is both practical and stylish.

Features of Ampere Nexus

The Ampere Nexus is powered by Nex.IO, an advanced system that enhances the scooter’s functionality. Known as the fastest and brightest in its segment, Nex.IO features a dynamic UI with the quickest boot time of less than 2 seconds. It offers seamless connectivity through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, while the 7-inch touchscreen delivers unmatched brightness for easy visibility in all conditions.
The lightweight operating system ensures efficiency, while the Eco, City, Power, Limp Home, and Reverse modes cater to different driving needs, with the reverse speed capped at 3 km/h for safety. The LED headlamp and taillamp add to their modern look, and connectivity is enabled via TCU and BLE, along with OTA updates for real-time improvements.
The system also features an ambient light and dark theme that automatically adapts to lighting conditions, creating a magical and intuitive user experience.

The Ampere EX is priced at ₹1,09,900, while the higher-end Ampere ST is priced at ₹1,19,900. For those looking for flexible payment options, EMIs start at an affordable rate of ₹2,714, making it easier for riders to own this innovative electric scooter without straining their budget.
