The fire caused a traffic jam on the Mumbai highway.
According to the fire department, eight Tata Nexon EV cars parked along the highway caught fire.
The fire brigade team from Zahirabad station brought the fire under control and doused it. Initial investigations revealed that the fire started from the cabin where the lorry driver was cooking on a kerosene stove.
The driver suffered minor injuries in the incident and was immediately admitted to the government hospital in Sangareddy for treatment.
“A detailed assessment of the damage to the container vehicle and the EV is being carried out. The quick response prevented the fire from spreading to nearby areas and minimized the potential danger to vehicles passing on the bypass road,” a fire department official said. Source: TOI
