The Tata Tiago EV has surpassed the 50,000 units sales mark in India at the moment.
The Tiago EV was first introduced by the automaker in September 2022, while its sales officially began in February 2023.
The Tata Tiago is currently amongst the best-selling e-vehicles. It is one of the most dependable and safest hatchbacks in India. In addition to being stylish, it also is quite powerful and has great specs, excellent features, and superior safety.
However, to celebrate this significant milestone, Tata Motors is offering an additional price reduction on the Tiago EV with immediate effect. The prices have been slashed by up to Rs 70,000, depending on the variant.
The Tata Tiago is a 5-seater mid-size compact vehicle available in four different trim models: XE, XT, XZ+, and XZ+Lux.
It is available in five appealing color options: Teal Blue, Daytona Grey, Tropical Mist, Pristine White, and Midnight Plum. It also features two drive modes: City and Sport.
The Tiago EV is offered with a choice of two battery packs: a 19.2 kWh battery pack and also a 24 kWh version. It has an automatic transmission and a claimed range of 250 km to 315 km, according to MIDC standards.
The electric motor output also varies depending on the battery pack. The former version has a 45 kW motor that produces a torque of 60 bhp to 110 Nm, while the stronger 55 kW motor develops a torque of 74 bhp to 114 Nm.
The EV comes with either a 3.3kW or 7.2kW home charger depending on the variant.
Remarkably, the Tata Tiago EV achieved the 10,000-unit sales mark in May 2023, just four months after starting deliveries.
For those who are unaware, Tata Tiago was one of the fastest-booked EVs in the country at the time of its introduction, with 10,000 bookings in just 24 hours.
This number was recently topped by the MG Windsor EV, which surpassed the 15,000 mark in 24 hours.
The increase in sales number is not just a historic milestone for the Tiago EV but also a stepping stone for the EV industry at large.
