The festive season is always a time of high demand, and Montra Electric is making sure no customer has to wait.
In a groundbreaking move for India’s EV logistics space, 175 units of the Montra Electric Super Auto were dispatched by rail from Tada (Andhra Pradesh) to Siliguri (West Bengal) — covering over 2,000 km in less than 72 hours.
This is Montra Electric’s first bulk railway shipment, and it’s more than just a milestone in logistics. It’s a statement of intent: faster, cleaner, and more cost-efficient mobility.
Traditionally, shipping a consignment of this size by road would have meant 17–18 trucks and nearly two weeks of transit time.
By opting for a single, consolidated rail movement instead, Montra Electric cut the delivery timeline by more than 60%, completing the journey in just under five days.
The environmental and economic benefits are equally impressive:
~15,800 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided
Up to 30% savings in logistics costs
Zero highway congestion from multiple trucks
No waiting time for customers during the festive rush
To top it off, a dedicated warehouse in Siliguri has been set up to ensure smooth distribution to dealerships across North and North-East India.
Commenting on the initiative, Deependra Sharma, CEO of Montra Electric Last-Mile Mobility, said:
“At Montra Electric, sustainability is not just about our products, it is embedded in the way we work and the choices we make. By adopting smarter logistics, we have been able to significantly reduce lead times, ensuring that vehicles reach our customers faster while lowering our environmental footprint.”
In other words, this move isn’t just about moving autos — it’s about moving towards a smarter, greener future.
The Super Auto has quickly become a standout in India’s electric last-mile mobility market. Designed with both drivers and passengers in mind, it blends performance, safety, and comfort:
Top speed: 55 km/h
Peak power: 10 kW
True range: 160 km (customer-assured)
Safety: 100% metal body, boron steel chassis
Comfort: Spacious cabin, LED headlights, radial tubeless tyres
Super Autos are already available through 110+ exclusive showrooms across India, with the network rapidly expanding.
This rail shipment is more than just a logistics update — it’s a glimpse of what the future of sustainable distribution could look like.
By tapping into India’s national railway infrastructure, Montra Electric has shown how clean mobility solutions can be delivered faster, smarter, and greener.
With a rapidly growing portfolio — from the 55-ton electric truck trailer RHINO to the E-27 electric tractor — Montra Electric, a Murugappa Group company, is setting new standards in clean transport across multiple segments.
The festive season is just the beginning. The road — or rather, the railway track — ahead looks greener than ever.
