Venue EV and Grand i10 EV- Hyundai’s Upcoming Electric Cars in India

Share

Hyundai Motor India

is preparing to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle (EV) market with plans to introduce a range of affordable and premium EVs.

Among the upcoming models are the Creta EV and the Inster-based EV, both of which have been spotted during road tests and are set to launch soon.

In addition to these, Hyundai is working on electric versions of its popular Venue and Grand i10 Nios, aiming to further strengthen its presence in the EV space.

Hyundai Venue EV: A Direct Competitor to Tata Nexon EV

The Venue EV will be based on the next-generation ICE model that is set to debut globally next year. This electric version of the Venue will follow its launch, aiming to establish itself as a strong contender in the compact EV segment.

With Hyundai focusing on making the Venue EV a competitive product, it will directly challenge popular models like the Tata Nexon EV and the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 EV.

Given that the Nexon EV is priced at Rs 12.5 lakh, the Venue EV will likely position itself similarly, catering to a growing demand for affordable electric SUVs.

Hyundai Grand i10 EV: A Rival for Tata Tiago EV

Similarly, Hyundai is working on an electric variant of its Grand i10 Nios, which will compete with the Tata Tiago EV. The Tiago EV currently starts at Rs 7.99 lakh, setting a benchmark in the budget EV space.

Hyundai’s Grand i10 EV is expected to be a direct rival, offering a compact, urban-friendly electric car to cater to the needs of budget-conscious buyers looking to switch to electric vehicles. Source

Hyundai’s EV Roadmap: A Broader Vision

Hyundai has ambitious plans for the future of electric mobility, expecting a 53 percent increase in EV sales by 2028.

The company’s electrification journey will include the launch of six Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), which will cover various segments and body styles, including sedans and SUVs.

With such a comprehensive approach, Hyundai is setting the stage to become a major player in the EV market, catering to diverse consumer preferences across different price segments and vehicle types.
