Kinetic India marked a major milestone in the country’s clean mobility transition today as its battery arm, Range-X, rolled out its first Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery from the newly established facility in Ahilya Nagar.
The inaugural Range-X battery is set to power the recently launched Kinetic DX EV, the company’s flagship electric two-wheeler. Certified under AIS 156 standards, the new battery emphasizes safety, durability, and sustainability—three critical benchmarks for India’s growing electric vehicle ecosystem.
Designed with eco-conscious LFP chemistry, the batteries promise 2,000–3,000 charge cycles, superior thermal stability, and a smart Battery Management System (BMS) that optimises performance and enhances safety.
Kinetic says this makes the Range-X battery “Longer, Safer & Superior,” suitable not only for the Kinetic DX but also for a wider range of two- and three-wheelers in the future.
Speaking at the rollout, Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman of Kinetic India, said:
“These first batteries rolling off our production line represent more than just a milestone for Range-X—they signify the backbone of the Kinetic DX EV and the next wave of clean mobility in India. With AIS 156 certification, Range-X delivers on its promise of combining durability, safety, and sustainability in every battery we produce.”
The Ahilya Nagar plant is equipped with a fully automated, IoT-enabled production line with POKE-YOKE systems and stage-wise inspections, designed to deliver precision and reliability at scale.
With India’s demand for electric two- and three-wheelers accelerating, Range-X aims to become a key supplier of safe, long-lasting, and sustainable battery solutions.
Kinetic Engineering Limited (KEL), the flagship company of the Kinetic Group, has over five decades of manufacturing experience and is led by Vice Chairman and Managing Director Ajinkya Firodia. Its Ahilya Nagar plant employs around 1,000 people and houses 32 manufacturing sheds with over 400 machines.
