Bengaluru-based energy tech startup Exponent Energy has launched its next-generation EV charging station, code-named P4, featuring 15-minute rapid charging technology and a revamped design focused on space efficiency and ease of use.
The new charger introduces three major innovations. Unlike conventional bulky chargers, the wall-style design is just 400 mm slim and runs along the length of the vehicle, occupying minimal space beyond the parking bay.
The 3-axis cable suspension system makes charging cables effectively weightless, retracting automatically after use.
In addition, the system now includes offboard battery pre-heating along with cooling—helping ensure longer battery life and rapid charging performance in cold environments.
According to the company, the P4 charger delivers up to 40 kW of power and is being deployed across Indian cities through partnerships with OEMs such as Montra Electric (Murugappa Group) and Omega Seiki Mobility, targeting both passenger and commercial EV segments.
Commenting on the launch, Arun Vinayak, Co-founder & CEO of Exponent Energy
, said:“Design is not just about aesthetics, but about re-thinking everything from first principles. We launched our earlier charger as a minimum viable product to learn from the field. The new charger brings together all those learnings to create a simplified, seamless energy experience—covering not just charging speed and battery life, but also how easy it is to find a charger and make payments.”
The P4 is built with durability in mind, featuring a full-metal connector shell, spring-compressed axial seals similar to LPG and CNG dispensers, and waterproof operation.
It also includes optimised airflow to minimise noise in cities and integrates with the new Exponent app, which provides real-time charger availability and supports seamless payments via a monthly pass.
15-minute rapid charging delivering up to 40 kW power.
Slim wall-style design – only 400 mm wide, saving valuable urban space.
3-axis floating cable system – makes cables weightless and easy to handle.
Offboard thermal management – battery cooling (2023) + new pre-heating feature for cold conditions.
Durable full-metal connector – waterproof, with LPG/CNG-style seals for reliability.
Optimized airflow system – reduces fan noise in city environments.
Exponent app integration – real-time charger availability, seamless monthly pass payments.
Scalable deployment – already rolling out with OEM partners like Montra Electric and Omega Seiki Mobility.
Since its founding in 2020, Exponent Energy says it has powered over 2,000 EVs, enabled 8 lakh+ rapid charging sessions, and covered more than 50 million kilometres.
The company recently expanded operations to Delhi NCR, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Hyderabad, while also introducing 1 MW rapid charging for buses in 2024. Earlier this year, Exponent was named to the World Economic Forum’s 2025 Technology Pioneers list.
