The elegant design of the Dolphin 2023 electric car has been made on the concept of the company’s ‘Ocean Aesthetics’ language, which was made by the chief designer, Wolfgang Egger. The Dolphin electric car has a wheelbase of 2700 mm and measures 4070*1770*1570 mm. It will operate on 16-inch/17-inch wheels based on the variant of the EV.
The BYD Dolphin EV has a permanent magnet synchronous motor at its front. The motor will be provided with two output choices: 70 kW / 180 Nm, and 130 kW / 290 Nm.
The range of the BYD Dolphin electric car for each of the motors is 420 km and 401 km respectively. Each variant of the BYD Dolphin is capable to do the transition from 0-100 km/hour in 10.9 seconds and 7.5 seconds.
Dolphin is one of the first European electric cars in the Ocean series to implement the ‘Ocean aesthetics’ design concept. The front wheel drive of the BYD Dolphin provides a 60kWh Lithium Ion Phosphate BYD blade battery. The BYD Dolphin is made from innovative cell-to-pack (CTP) technology. This technology provides better aerodynamics and greater safety.
The BYD Dolphin electric car is equipped with a BYD LFP Blade Battery Pack with a rating of 44.9 kWh. The electric car also has a fast charging facility of 60kW power.
The BYD Dolphin EV has a 12.8 floating central control screen, a flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel, and a 5-inch full LCD instrument panel. The EV will be having many other fascinating features like electric exterior mirrors, front parking radar, seat belt warning light, etc.
The features like a six-way electronically adjustable driver seat, a rear center armrest with a cup holder, front seat heating, and a four-way electronically adjustable passenger seat, make the BYD Dolphin electric car more efficient.
Presently, this Electric Car is available in China. The price of the electric car starts from CNY 1,16,800, which is equivalent to Rs. 13.9 lakhs. The top variant of the BYD Dolphin EV costs CNY 1,36,800, which is equivalent to Rs. 16.3 lakhs.
This electric vehicle has been launched in China recently. The company has not yet revealed when this EV will be brought to India.
