Tesla held a staggering event today at its headquarters in Palo Alto, California. The launch of semi-trucks was first exposed in the year 2017 and was supposed to go into production by 2020. However, due to a series of disruptions, the company couldn’t fulfill its promise and which led to a delay in the process.
Three years down the line, today we are here witnessing Tesla’s first delivery to PepsiCo undergoing the production version.
Let’s uncover all the layers of the live event one by one.
The partnership between Tesla and PepsiCo started in the year 2017 when PepsiCo placed a huge order for 100 electric trucks to be added to its fleet. PepsiCo has decided to use the trucks in its different phases of distribution. The 15 e-trucks will be responsible for taking care of the zero-emission motto of PepsiCo in the Frito-Lay Modesto site, California.
There is no new update on pricing and other specific features in this live event today. We believe that the prices and technical qualifications would remain the same as announced during the 2017 event.
- The 300 miles range version would cost around $1,50,000.
- The 500 miles range version would cost around $1,80,000.
However, there has been a steady rise in the prices of Tesla vehicles ever since. Let’s see what the company has in store. Apart from PepsiCo, Walmart, United Parcel Service Inc., etc. have reserved the vehicle.
Technical qualification of Semi truck
